I suppose...if it were a complete set, but the back is not mentioned, so who knows? The verses about the armor are preceded by “the command “STAND FIRM” so I never envisioned a back-plate.

The melee could get pretty rough-and-tumble for Romans unlike the primadonna phalanx which needed conditions to be perfect.
