Cruz was never vetted early on. He rode up behind Trump’s wings and Trump never touched him until it was late in the game.

Trump is far from stupid. LOL

Another thing is that Cruz has been marketed as above perfect.

People on our side need to cut that out.

Nobody is perfect and the higher on the pedestal the candidate sits, the farther the fall.

He is getting vetting now, and will get vetted more by the time of the Caucus.

Excellent point. For instance, when you boast of a perfect memory then have to admit to “forgetting” financial filings and health insurance, it looks real bad.

Absolutely. Ask most of his supporters and frankly they really wont know much about him past 2014, outside of sentimental stuff like he was in debate club, or that he “memorized the constitution at 13”. He’s ambitious, but just too green for this type of fight.

“He rode up behind Trump’s wings and Trump never touched him until it was late in the game.”

This is indisputable. A carelessly risky move that was based on the media narrative that Trump would “implode” or is an idiot. That somehow you just let him rip through the competition, and then Cruz (possessing some sort of incredible powers) would merely flick Trump out of the race with a wave of his hand.

Cruz (likely with the help of too many Yes Men and sycophants) greatly overestimated his abilities and got wrapped up in some goofy idea that it was his divine right to be the nominee, and that providence would clear the way for him to assume what they think was rightfully his.

“Another thing is that Cruz has been marketed as above perfect.”

Right again. Some of the gushing platitudes are cringe-worthy, and greatly inflated his head to the point where when the real fight started, he balked hard. That’s why you have National Review, and Glenn Beck plus all of these blogs, rushing in to circle the wagons. Cruz cant withstand a real hardcore election on his own.

“Nobody is perfect and the higher on the pedestal the candidate sits, the farther the fall.”

The problem is that I dont think Cruz honestly expected to have to put in much of a fight.
