Trump: Cruz 'could be Canadian prime minister'
CNN ^ | 1/23/2016 | Eugene Scott

Donald Trump has a fallback option for his main GOP opponent, Ted Cruz, in case the Texas senator comes up short in his bid to capture the Republican nomination for president of the United States: become Canada's prime minister.

At least that's what the GOP front-runner tweeted Friday night in his latest swipe at his closest competitor, who was born in Canada.

"Cruz did not renounce his Canadian citizenship as a US Senator- only when he started to run for #POTUS. He could be Canadian Prime Minister," Trump tweeted.

Trump has repeatedly questioned Cruz's eligibility to be president of the United States, even though legal scholars widely agree that Cruz, who was born in Calgary, Alberta, to an American mother, is eligible for the White House.

The Texas Republican, a natural-born U.S. citizen, also had Canadian citizenship until he renounced it in 2014.

A lawsuit was filed in Texas earlier this month over whether Cruz can run for president. And Trump has often cited Harvard law professor Laurence Tribe, who said that although Cruz is generally accepted to be a natural-born citizen, no court has definitively ruled on the question.

"It's a serious cloud," Tribe told CNN's Anderson Cooper last week. "It has to be taken seriously. It's not just a matter of coming up with great talking points or winning some debate. I think he does a disservice to the Constitution and the country when he thinks he can slide his way, slip slide his way around this serious constitutional issue."

Trump has used the citizenship question to hammer Cruz, and the issue has gained some traction among GOP voters. A Monmouth University poll released Wednesday found more than a third of Republican voters question Cruz's eligibility to be president...

Trump is really sounding desperate (Cruz renounced his Canadian citizenship). Trump must have internal polling data that’s really bad.

It's a Trump conspiracy to control all of North America.

First, win the presidency.

Next, send Cruz up north to be Prime Minister of Canada.

Finally, send Jebbie Bush to Mexico to run that country.

Of course the Communist News Network (CNN) would much prefer Trump over Cruz.

Trump backs U.S.-Cuba diplomatic relations

By Jeremy Diamond, CNN

Sept 8, 2015

Washington (CNN) - Breaking ranks with nearly all of his fellow 2016 Republican contenders, Donald Trump says he supports President Barack Obama's decision to reengage diplomatically with Cuba.

"50 years is enough," Trump said in an interview with the Daily Caller published Tuesday, referring to Obama's decision to re-establish U.S. ties with Cuba.

"I think it's fine. I think it's fine, but we should have made a better deal," Trump added. "The concept of opening with Cuba is fine."

Again (not to you OP): John McCain was born to a military family on a US military base - automatic natural born citizen. I remember when people were raising a huge stink about it.

Not that I supported McCain aside from voting for him, but still, the left is crazy.

Trump needs to stop this garbage. He needs to realize many of his own supporters like and respect Ted Cruz. The personal attacks show him to be a bitter and mean spirited man. I know thatsbthe NY way. But he needs to keep the vitrial to the Clintons and the establishment pukes.

If jOkeass can be Pres__ent then Cruz can be President. They both had American mothers. We just don’t know where Obummer got spanked on the butt. We do know ObOzO spent his formative years learning to be a good Moozie and how Americans were regarded in Vietnam.

Why would a natural born American citizen have to renounce his Canadian citizenship? Isn’t that a little weird?

lol O kay. You just creeped me out. HOWEVER, if there were ‘an evil American plan to take over the world’, this could MAYBE make all the candidates happy. Canada would probably be an improvement, Mexico would be the same hot mess it’s always been & we could Make America Great Again. As long as Jebito would be willing to pay for the WALL.

(You know I’m kidding, right?)

Yes its weird, good question, I don’t have the answer.

Think of this Beck said he would move out of the country if Trump get into the WH. Beck could go to Canada and try and get Cruz elected Canadian PM, after all Ted is a son of Canada, natural born.

We are going to make Jebbie pay for the wall as soon as he is made President of Mexico. Brilliant!

And Prime Minister Cruz is going to make Canada great again.
