CT Coastline - 50 miles northeast of NY. Pretty mellow so far. Low tide right now, about 5 inches on the ground with small flakes coming down steadily, winds are about 18 knots from the northeast. Chili is on the stove (well, my chili - not purist chili), and my on-call week is over. George Thoroughgood and the Destroyers are blasting from the Polks and my wife is dancing with the golden retrievers. The snowblower is under the tarp by the driveway, gassed up and ready for action.
All is well.
Our local forecast just went up to 18 - 24 inches.
Chester/Berks County... 2 ft. Plus... Son safety harnessed shoveling off the roof...
Looks like nothing but racists here, this thread is all mentioning white.
Sun is out and 11” on the ground with a howling wind here in the southern Blue Ridge.
Highlight of the storm was the little dog catching a mouse scurrying around in the snow on the patio last night.
Bristol, PA...powder. Cool drifts. No snow around jeep or on north side of house (grass is showing) but seeing the southside drift, I think I could spend ONE day in the desert taking pics. Would rather be in the mountains.
Now a foot or more is likely and we are still on the northern fringe of the storm.
I went to the grocery store early this morning. People in the aisles had panic in their eyes and were filling their carriages to the brim. I never understood the need to stockpile during a storm. By this time tomorrow, the storm will be over, the roads will be plowed, and we'll be on our way back to normal.
I was just there to get some fresh produce and a few odds and ends. Making turkey soup today and I have a fire going in my fireplace. Have Donald Trump's rally on the big screen.
Cheers from Clinton NJ.....
Shoveled twice so far, about 8” maybe in SW CT. We were only supposed to get 3-6 originally. Grandkids and I are loving it but it is not snowman snow (thankfully) which is great on one hand and frustrating to shovel on the other! Everyone around me loves snow, as long as we don’t have to drive in it!
OK in Baltimore.
As of 4:20 PM, 20 inches of snow has fallen in my Brooklyn Heights backyard.
The furnace has not been working well, so I’m freezing but otherwise all right here in South-NJ.
Shoveled only halves this afternoon - half the driveway, half the steps, half the sidewalk. That’s it for me.
The wind is howling.
Luckily, there’s some wood for a fire tonight.
Hope everyone else is all right.
All fine in NYC!
