In 2013, the tea party rallied to Matt Bevin against Donald Trump. RedState and tea party groups around the country swung into action in an ultimately unsuccessful bid to get Matt Bevin through the primary against Mitch McConnell. We were completely out-funded by establishment interests and Washington lobbyists.
It turns out, one of those establishment interests was Donald J. Trump.
In 2013, Donald Trump gave $220,000.00 to organizations, many of them dedicated to stamping out the Tea Party. From Karl Roveâs American Crossroads to Mitch McConnellâs Super PAC, Trump spread out money. Rove got $50,000.00 and McConnell got $60,000.00. Trump also wrote a check to McConnellâs campaign directly for $5,200.00.
Whatâs more, Trump also gave $100,000.00 to the Congressional Leadership Fund, a Republican Establishment PAC that was created to crush conservatives at the behest of John Boehner.
Running as an anti-establishment Republican now and courting Sarah Palin is a distraction from two stark facts.
In 2010, with the rise of the Tea Party, Trump supported Democrats against conservatives. In 2014, Donald Trump supported the Republican Establishment as it sought to crush the tea party and conservatives.
It is seriously disingenuous to think Trump is somehow now against the very candidates and organizations he funded just two years ago â candidates and politicians he is already again starting to say nice things about.
That is true but what he wants to get done are good for the United States of America.
And he has advocated single payer.
Or Bob Dole.
It’s one thing to vote for them once they’re nominated. It’s another to donate big money to the Establishment side while there are primaries against them involving conservative, tea party candidates.
Cruz already has a list of items to do teh very first day, and he will get the wal lbuilt.
Cruz is co-sponsoring a bill ( with Sessions) that will cut H-1B visas.
Finally figured it out myself a week ago.. a bunch of new freepers.. some scoop articles.. coincidence.. nope.
Brilliant uniparty move.. Trump is.. the only Democrat who can win. Two Corinthians ping. His record.. just like obmas, tells the truth about him and the leftover obama bots who post fifty trumpeteer articles daily.
Trump is for a form of amnesty. He is a friend of the Establishment. He has supported them financially and he is a deal maker who will continue the get-along, go-along deal making that has beset DC for too long.
Trump pretends to be conservative but is really just a front for big money establishment campaign donors. They’ll still have plenty of influence in a Trump White House.
Congress has done nothing to stop 0bama and now Trump proposes to come in and make deals. Cruz, OTOH, has stood up, sometimes alone, to the corrupt, deal-making, get-along, go-along RINO Establishment. This is why the Establishment prefers Trump to Cruz.
Yes, he’s in the mix.
And on NBC, he said he’d revoke all of 0bama’s executive orders (good), but when asked if that means he won’t govern by executive order, he said, “I’ll do good ones.”
Touchback Trump doesn’t get the problem with that.
This is the progressive conceit — that the problem isn’t the government, its size, scope, or cost, but the people running it, and if the right people are just put in charge, then it will work well.
They’re not — Dole, Lott, Hatch, and many others are praising him.
The candidate who scares the RINO Establishment is Cruz.
Documenetd — so it can’t be lies or slander.
What a moronic post.
Yes, but that’s only since the campaign began and he started get schlonged over his stupid H1B positions.
That's a pretty good assessment. Nixon clearly governed as a liberal: Affirmative Action and EPA are among his administration's products.
But he was more or less anti-Communist (though I didn't agree with some of his policies in that regard) and he talked a good game --or more precisely, sent Vice President Agnew out to do it.
Clearly, he was to the right of McGovern, likely even Humphrey. If the media had to have a Republican, they much preferred a full-out liberal like Rockefeller.
But Nixon was no Goldwater, either, or Reagan. Not by a long shot.
Trump is a politician. He said so in recent interviews.
Now, but not in terms of career. He’s a businessman, Fiorina a businesswoman, and Carson a surgeon.
Cruz is a politician for years now, and the rest of field is a who’s who list of professional politicians.
I don’t want a politician. They have failed. Just look around.
Trump has been a liberal until he decided to run for president. He’s been involved in the political game for years. Yes, he’s as much an Establishment politician as anyone up there.
Trump is the Establishment.

Exactly. Perfect summary of the current situation.
