The Establishment’s Irrational Fear of Ted Cruz
Western Free Press ^ | January 22, 2016 | David Limbaugh

Some time ago I said that many establishment Republicans dislike Ted Cruz so much that they would even back their nemesis, Donald Trump, if necessary to keep Cruz from winning. This is one time I wish I had been wrong.

The establishment has long held Cruz in contempt but didn’t believe he had any realistic chance of securing the GOP nomination. Now, with his campaign success, he’s scaring their pants off. Former Republican presidential candidate Bob Dole has issued apocalyptic warnings against nominating Cruz, and I’ve just received an email that Sen. Orrin Hatch prefers Trump over Cruz as well...

Irrational fear would imply you have nothing to fear. Much of the multi-million dollar club of political leaders, donors and commentators have much to fear from a Cruz presidency.

A very rational fear. Irrational would be declaring Islam to be the Religion Of Peace (tm).

They prefer Trump over Cruz for only one reason,
There is hope on making some sort of deals with Trump, though very slight at best in my opinion. However with Cruz, they KNOW the Party is Over and NO DEALS !

The estabs in the GOP are doing everything they possibly can to lose. Apparently the prospect of victory frightens them to no end.

President Trump and Attorney General Cruz.

Let Cruz clean up Washington DC. He would do a lot of good there.

The Republican Party has done nothing for the American people. It has been a useless bunch of elite corrupt gang. That is why I am going for Trump. I am tired of being screwed by both parties. I want a clean break from the GOPe and a reorganizing of the current Republican party.

Trump for President. It is our only chance unless one wants the current corrupt communists America to continue.

When Dole and McCain and Romney were at this point in their primary cycles, they all began to run like bulldozers over the real conservatives. Do you all remember that?

From that point on we had to just eat it and either not vote or hold our noses. Do you remember that? The big difference this time is that Cruz has a shot of overcoming the GOPe.

This is a time for choosing. We can either stand with the principles that brung us, or we choose the GOPe.

That is what is at stake. It is real clear.

If you think we really need McConnell's lying influence for eight more years you know who your man is.

Fear isn’t an operative adjective. Cruz is an opportunist Conservative Imposter. The more you know about him, the more you realize he is a fraud who will say or do anything to gain a momentary advantage. Summary: Typical Politician.

The fear of Cruz is irrational no matter which way you slice it. Only constitutional conservatives can save this country, and he is the most constitutionally conservative of them all.

Yeah,

The only hope to save the United States is to elect a one term Senator and Harvard lawyer from Canada.

Trump is the Establishment. They don’t mind him. Cruz scares them to death. They know Cruz stands on his principles and will fight for those principles. In DC, and in New York, that’s considered completely unacceptable.

Precisely. The GOPe is already flocking to Trump with their hands out, all the while he is telling them that he will cut them into the deal (using our tax money, of course).
