Donald Trump on Friday morning released a new campaign ad that accuses Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) of flip-flopping on immigration and supporting "amnesty."
The 60-second television spot starts with a Fox News interview between Bret Baier and Cruz from late last year in which Baier grilled Cruz on his comments about the immigration reform bill in 2013.
"It sounded like you wanted the bill to pass," Baier told Cruz in December.
Cruz stumbled and mumbled before responding, "Of course I wanted the bill to pass, what â my amendment to pass, what my amendment did is take citizenship off the table but it doesnât mean, what it doesn't mean that I supported other aspects of the bill."
The Trump ad labels Cruz as "pro-immigration" and asks, "What is he talking about?"
The ad then cuts to to comments made by Cruz in 2013, when he urged the Senate to pass an immigration reform compromise that would allow "those who are here illegally to come out of the shadows."
The Trump ad labels Cruz "pro amnesty," then cuts to Trump laying out his immigration proposals.
"To have a country, you have to have borders," Trump says in the ad.
Trump's first attack ad on Cruz will run in Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina. The Trump campaign did not specify how much the candidate would spend airing the ad, but said that the campaign will spend $2 million each week on advertising.

Why doesn’t Trump focus on Hitlery? Ask why she isn’t being arrested?
BAM! There it is.
Advice for Trump, Cruz, etc. Promote your own agenda.
Dip into the attack ads at your own peril. You’re just going to give away votes - and honestly, I don’t want you paying the media to drive away your votes.

Who want to “EXPEDITE” the reentry of 11,000,000 illegals?
I’m sorry but attack ads do not have to be truthful!!!
I’m fed up with both of them. I’m leaning Rubio. I like his position regarding abortion.

Ted Cruz Says Donald Trumpâs Immigration Policy Amounts to ‘Amnesty’
I like Trump. I really do.
But Trump needs an ad right now getting out in front of the reports that he had/has a sweet money deal with Goldman Sachs. The Democrats are going to clobber him with questions about his close Goldman Sachs ties.
I can’t tell you how many people are asking “what does Goldman Sachs expect from Trump for giving him a sweet money deal?”
The only reason I bring up Trump’s sweet money deal with Goldman Sachs is I am doing Trump a favor. Because I really, really like Trump.
Says the guy whose plan is send them all out and then most of them right back in legally, Of course that’s not amnesty, it’s................well hell!
Ted Cruz’s Immigration Advice to George W. Bush
As a policy aide on Mr. Bush’s 2000 presidential campaign, Mr. Cruz struck a very different tone on immigration than he is offering today. Disliked Prop 187, doesn’t want English as an official language, more cheap imported labor, more immigration....and worse. THE REAL TED CRUZ.

Lol, I like it!
You mean the open borders guy?
Most of you C guys don’t even know. This how it works. Trump brings some back after the US employers cannot find US workers to do the jobs then the immigrant gets a temporary work visa to work at Holiday Inns. And he’s the only candidate who wants to deport them instead of giving them amnesty in place and inside the United States.
I’ve noticed the more Cruz stutters and stammers, the deeper the bulls**t is.
The only way Trump can attack Cruz, is from the left, with trumped up (no pun intended) propaganda hit pieces, taken out of context, in order to push an agenda. Just like the left does. And it is interesting to note, that Trump is spending more time attacking those in his own party, than he is the Democrats.
