The Real Clear Politics average of recent polls finds that Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio are each ahead of Hillary Clinton in head-to-head polling, while Clinton is ahead of Donald Trump. Clinton leads Trump by a tally of 45 to 43 percent. Meanwhile, Rubio leads Clinton by 46 to 44 percent, and Cruz leads Clinton by 46 to 45 percent.
Limiting the results to polls taken since New Year's Day, the margins are a bit greater. Clinton leads Trump by 4 points-48 to 44 percent. Rubio leads Clinton by the same 4 points-48 to 44 percent. And Cruz leads Clinton by 2 points-48 to 46 percent.

I LOVE these polls that show the Republican candidate always slightly ahead of the Democratic candidate at the beginning of the year (GW vs Gore, McCain vs Obama, Romney vs Obama....notice a pattern in all of those? We lost the “Popular” Vote in each one of those). People are misreading the polls! ANY Republican candidate can expect his/her numbers to DROP in the general election! The onslaught that will come from the MSM, Hollywood, Entertainment Industry, Cultural “Elites”, Educational Industrial Complex, etc...will be relentless and there is NO evidence that any of the Republican candidates (except Trump) will be able to whether it! The fact that Trump (in the eyes of the MSM) has insulted virtually EVERYONE and is only two points away from Hillary tells you that he has the BEST chance to Win the General Election! His number against Hillary is his FLOOR, and NOT his ceiling like the others!! JMHO

I’m not basing my support of Cruz solely on closing the border the way you apparently are with Trump.
Simply enforcing the existing laws as Cruz says he intends to do is going to be much more effective in stopping the illegals than a wall and promising touch back amnesty.
The promise of touch back amnesty will be a magnet to illegals to come here so they can get touch back amnesty.

Best summation yet, I think. Unfortunately. And yet there are so many who would vote for Bernie or Hillary despite everything, that we actually need him. Cruz is simply beyond the understanding of the general public. Generally speaking, people already think like Trump talks. That's why, BTW, he speaks as he does - it's no accident.
