CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER: I think we're getting to a moment where there's a scenario that one can see. Which is, you get Bob Dole, who represents the old establishment, if you like, essentially choosing Trump over Cruz. Now, if Cruz loses Iowa, Trump wins convincingly, I think all he will need at that point is to have a single current establishment figure. Meaning a sitting governor or a sitting Senator endorse him.
Nobody has, everybody stayed away from him. But if there are people who think he's the winning ticket, he's going to win the nomination, I want to be on the right side of this. And you get one standing out there endorsing him. Sarah Palin doesn't -- meet that bill. Bob Dole does, but you know, he's yesterday's man.
If you get somebody today from the so-called establishment who endorses him, I think it becomes a flood. At that point the dam breaks and you will get a rush of other establishment figures who will rally around him. And that could be the point at which he becomes inevitable as the nominee.
BRET BAIER, "SPECIAL REPORT" ANCHOR: Why is it that no Senator has stepped up to endorse Ted Cruz? Not even his ally, Jeff Sessions as of yet on immigration?
(Excerpt) Read more at realclearpolitics.com ...
You are right about it lasting for decades and the Supreme Court is very important...Because he would be kinda frozen to that one job is the only reason I place SC as a third option for Cruz....
If he wins Iowa, there will be a lot of endorsements.
This is EXACTLY what is going on, these BASTARDS are in panic mode !! I can not believe they would stoop this low!! They CAN’T STAND Trump the idiots SHOULD HAVE talked to the National Review Before trying to put this idiotic plan into motion!!! What FOOLS they ALL are!!! I am seeing heads exploding WAY AHEAD of schedule!!!!
I hope, when the time comes, all the republicans all over America have an epidemic of sanity.....
Interesting perspective. I can see the value in that.
Who DO you think would be a good VP for Trump?
They don’t dislike Cruz because he’s a poor conversationalist, they hate Cruz because he doesn’t shut up and get in line. He’s a back-bencher that calls out their BS, like Churchill was.
When a man stands for something noble, he makes fast enemies of the ignoble.
Translation: If one more important person whose opinion matters comes out for Trump, the sheep are going to follow in line.
That those who have run as Conservatives and fallen far short of that mark don't like Cruz is no surprise, really. No one likes to be forced to confront their own failings.
Most will.
I see you're living up to your name.
At the beginning of the cycle, I liked Scott Walker, and I still do. But he may have burnt his bridges with Trump.
Trump isn't a political animal by nature, but a woman wouldn't be a bad move. I'm in the minority on FR, but I think Carly Fiorina is an excellent speaker, and she sure as hell won't be afraid to attack Hillary. I think putting a man in the traditional attack-dog role might be a risk; having an articulate woman going after Hillary tooth and nail would nullify the "mean to a woman" angle.
I'm trying to think of a hard-core conservative woman without baggage, and I can't at the moment. I suppose that would be the best demographic choice.
He traded the EPA pushing ethanol for Iowa. Already. Fuel economy and domestic oil for a subsidized and federally mandated industry, with the added bonus of implying the EPA isn't going away for...Iowa.
What will he trade for New York or California, the RKBA?
So...so...true....
It could. Or it couldn’t. Now that we’ve cleared that up lets let Republican voters decide.
Churchill was opposed but not disliked. Same for Lady Thatcher.
I think Trump himself draws many from the middle to left. So I still see 2 directions. Go "moderate", or go right to shore up right credentials.
Going moderate could mean Rubio. Fiorina would be another choice. Woman. Non politician.
Tacking right. Shoring up conservative bona fides, PLUS continuing anti-establishment...Sarah Palin.
Trump likes playing smash mouth. That would be about as smash mouth against the GOPe and Dems as it would get.
Make Cruz the AG, then USSC when open.
Carson for Surgeon General.
Ted Nugent, Secretary Of The Interior.
Chuck Norris, Secretary of Defense Offense War.
In seriousness, about cabinet, someone like Jerry Boykin might be good for Sec. Def
When the Establishment caves and agrees with the anti-establishment, game-set-match.
I believe Jeff Sessions will endorse Trump! That would put a nail in Cruz's coffin since after Sessions stood up and supported why Cruz lied Cruz said Sessionsis would be HIS VP.
Now for all those Trump fear-mongers out there ...

Back then, Donald Trump offered to put up his own money to stop the [Ground Zero Victory Mosque aka] Mosque and Islamic community center planned near Ground Zero.
Trump said he’d pay $6 million for the Park51 Cordoba Mosque site (a princely sum for property then-worth about $4.5 million).
Trump was lacerated for his efforts by the property/s investor.

‘Christianity under siege!’
Amen, my ‘evil overlord’! We must defend Christians to fulfill our sinister plans. And Sarah Palin will prepare the animal sacrifice.

Is Trump a monster? That would mean the following:
1. Hannity is in on it.
2. Rush is in on it.
3. Herman Cain is in on it.
4. Senator Jeff Sessions is being duped.
5. Phyllis Schlafly is being duped.
6. Jerry Falwell, Jr talking to Hannity re Trump ...

7. Michael Savage, probably the most paranoid anti-establishment talk radio host around, is also being duped.
8. And last but not least — Sarah Palin is ‘in on it’.
I’m sure the list is even longer than that.
In the meantime, this super-villain was attacked during the response to the State of the Union Address by the ‘G’ OP. How ‘Wellstone Memorial’ of’em. About as strong an endorsement in Trump’s favor as you can get.
If there is any clue on earth that Trump is evil, Jeb Bush would have already exposed it by now. Easy these days to leak via proxy. Trump has destroyed the Bush Dynasty’s aura of power by hostile takeover.
Then there’s the ‘stream of consciousness’ open-book events. A super-villain doesn’t roll that way — too much to hide.
