The fight heats up
Texas Sen. Ted Cruz returned fire on establishment Republicans Thursday, including former Kansas Sen. Bob Dole, who suggested that Cruz would fare worse in a general election than Donald Trump.
Speaking to reporters following a campaign stop in New Hampshire, Cruz said Dole, among others, were looking to continue the "cronyism" and "corruption" of Washington. "If you think of the last time we beat the Washington cartel it was 1980, it was the Reagan revolution, where millions of Americans rose up," Cruz said. "And I would note that Mr. Dole then opposed Reagan, and said we need someone who can go to Washington who can cut a deal. Well the American people understood that's not what we needed." ...

You know that.
Cruz is more concerned with his constituents than the establishment.
John McCain was no Bob Dole, in war or out of war. McCAin did favors from his arrival in the US Senate with the Keating Five. Go buy a clue.
Dole did BIG favors too, but for farmers in Kansas.
McCain has never paid a price for his betrayals to Republicans, because he traded on his “hero” hostage status, night and day, forever. Dole NEVER did that. Dole just made a poor prez candidate. McCain was WORSE.
So, don’t get too prickly with your purity conditions there, bubba.
Veto.
Criticize the tax collector for the welfare state? The humanity!
I believe the headline is another of those intended to stoke animosities between the two camps.
You are as stupid as the other clown.
Wish I had an answer.
I’m about as enthused with him as you are.
Freak much?
That rant just put you in the same category. Good work.
Well, when I provide information folks get upset.
So I’ve come to the place if that’s what you want to believe, it’s fine with me.
AAAARRRRRRGGGGHH
Please don't say those 3 words again, ever
“Why would Cruz trash Jeb Bush or anyone else Willy nilly?”
Because he was in single digits, trailing even Carson?
But yeah why should he when he had Trump to do it for him?
That’s as retarded as when dems look for whomever supported Reagan as it being the same as Reagan endorsing them.
Trump isn’t the gatekeeper of who supports him, just like Cruz not telling Glenn Beck to get lost.
I think you are misunderstanding my intent.
I’m not here to say he’s a big Washington insider. We agree on that.
The problem is, we aren’t the population at large.
What are their thoughts on it? I don’t think it’s out of the question to ponder if they are buying him as being better.
Some will. Some may be so jaded at this point that they don’t want to have anything to do with anyone in Washington. Is that true?
We may find out it is in time. I honestly don’t have the answer.
If the polls in Iowa are breaking bad, there has to be some reason for it. This may play in. I don’t know.
“He looks like a small man and thus makes looks Cruz bigger.”
Yes yes, we know, Cruz can do no wrong, make no poor moves, nor ever falter.
The Myth of Cruz in a nutshell. He can buy 50000 Powerball tickets, get zero numbers, and still win the jackpot.
It’s really not hard to understand. Trump is from the Rockefeller Republican wing of the Republican Party. By his own admission he bought and sold politicians. He bought McConnell for 50k when Mitch was wetting his pants about Bevin. He even bought a commie in the New York Mayoral race. It is not irrational for conservatives to back a conservative. It is irrational for conservatives to back liberals portraying themselves as moderates. If Trump wins the nomination he will turn left so fast you won’t know what hit you. At that time it will be you heading for the hills.
I think my answer to PROCON may fit your comments pretty well.

Every chance I get.
Reagan had the entire Establishment against him, from Ford on down. Trump is now lining up the losers that Conservatives have been fighting against for decades.
Look, I get it. Most Trump supporters don't care that he was pro abortion or pro amnesty or pro socialized medicine or said Bill BiBlasio would be a great mayor. Your ilk just wants the win and if it means you need to sacrifice some principles, then so be it.
Nothing wrong with that I guess. We've done it before with McCain and Romney.
