Ted Cruz says this 2-year-old tweet proves that Donald Trump 'SUPPORTS amnesty'

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on Thursday touted a tweet Donald Trump sent more than two years ago that Cruz said proved his primary rival supports "amnesty."

"Just a minute ago, I tweeted on Twitter a tweet that Donald sent in 2013," Cruz said during a Boston Herald Radio interview.

He was referring to an August 2013 tweet in which the Republican presidential front-runner wrote: "Congress must protect our borders first. Amnesty should be done only if the border is secure and illegal immigration has stopped."

Mygosh, Trump is saying that you can't even talk about the other issues until the border is secure. Well, yeah. That sounds a real lot like "build the wall".

Wasn't this back when Cruz was supporting increasing H1B visas five-fold?

Cruz is just wrong. There is no proof Trump has ever been against amnesty.

This is why the Beck endorsement is so ass-backwards stupid.

There’s photos and video of Cruz on the border handing supplies to illegals.

Judge by action, not by words...

Like giving money to Sharpton, Hillary, the Clinton Foundation, Harry Reid, Rahm Emmanuel, etc, etc?

Well, Trump, in the tweet, included the words “Amnesty should be done...”. And I would be VERY surprised if Trump did not initiate a form of Amnesty as part of his planned BOOMERANG process (”Deport” illegals and, if they are “good” (meaning “not bad”?), have an expedited process to bring them back quickly and legalize them. THAT’S AMNESTY TO MY MIND.

Fill in the blank:

+/- 17 years before becoming a prominent conservative and eventual Republican presidential candidate, ___________began his political career as a Democrat. He joined numerous political committees with a left-wing orientation, such as the American Veterans Committee. He fought against Republican-sponsored right-to-work legislation. He planned to lead an anti-nuke demonstration and only his employer's intervention prevented it. He was elected president of a large, famous union twice--a union which had known communists among its members. He appeared ONSTAGE to endorse the Democratic presidential candidate, who subsequently won. 19 years later, as a governor he signed into law a liberalization of abortion that led to an explosion of abortions in his state.

Almost 20 years later, as president, he signed a law that legalized all illegal immigrants who had arrived in the US during the first almost 200 years of the existence of our nation.

I'll fill in the blank for you: our greatest president of the 20th century, known as Ronaldus Magnus, RONALD REAGAN.

Two interviews in July 2015 show Trump supporting a legalization amnesty WITHOUT deportations for the non criminals. And the CNN interview also shows Trump saying that a citizenship amnesty is something that he doesn't want now but that he would think about it.

Since then, Trump has been for an expedited touchback amnesty.

Trump claims to be strong on immigration, but his positions on amnesty will utterly destroy this country.

"For people that have been here for years, that have been hard workers, have good jobs, they're supporting their family, it's very, very tough to just say, 'By the way, 22 years, you have to leave. Get out.' I'm one of the world's very conservative people, but I have to tell you on a human basis, how do you throw somebody out that's lived in this country for 20 years?"

- Donald J. Trump, June 18, 2012.

Yes, that’s amnesty. But he would never go to all the expense and problem to deport them. They will just get amnesty here. And they will never weed out all the criminals.
