Marco Rubio: Why Is The Establishment Is Attacking Me?
Breitbart ^ | 01/21/15 | Charlie Spiering

Posted on 01/21/2016 11:16:36 AM PST by Enlightened1

I'm not establishment, he is.

That's the argument that presidential candidates are making on the campaign trail as they vow to take on the establishment in Washington D.C.

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) 79% asserted today that the establishment is actually not on his side, but rather spending money to stop him from becoming president.

"Every time I've ever run for office, whether it's to the Senate or now as president, I've had to take on the Republican establishment and we're doing it again now," Rubio said in New Hampshire this morning according to Politico's Eli Stokols. "For example, I've had over $20 million spent attacking me. That's not grassroots money, that's money from the establishment."

Rubio was referring to money spent by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) 97% and Jeb Bush including their supportive Super PACS. According to the New York Times Jeb's "Right To Rise" Super PAC has spent more than $50 million on negative ads particularly against Rubio.

But Rubio does have the support of many wealthy longtime Republican donors, including billionaire investor Paul Singer. He has also earned endorsements from several Congressional members.

The Florida Senator was questioned by reporters this morning, after Ted Cruz floated the theory that the establishment had abandoned Marco Rubio and instead was coalescing around Donald Trump.

"Right now, the Washington establishment is abandoning Marco Rubio," Cruz said last night. "They've made the assessment that Marco can't win this race, and the Washington establishment is rushing over to support Donald Trump."

Rubio doesn’t understand that this doesn’t matter, as far as he is concerned. He did something worse than just be “establishment”, he betrayed his own supporters. He campaigned on promises that the proceeded to instantly renege on as soon as he was in Washington. That’s why people won’t ever trust him with something like the Presidency, no matter how much he tries to distance himself from the “establishment”.

Rubio, Rubio...wherefore art thou, Rubio?
Deny thy father Jeb, and refuse thy name;
Or if thou wilt not, be but sworn my anti-establishment guy;
And I'll no longer be a conservative

Here in Iowa to Jeb train is railing against Rubio. It is a sight to see. I guess they are both trying to wins the establishment piece of the pie. That slice is a little smaller this year with Trump going moderate so early.

They’ve switched to Trump. They think he can’t beat Hillary and they will have business as usual in D.C.

Dunno.

They are old and senile. They probably though Rubio was Ted Cruz.

This is the primary.

Marco Rubio’s job is to appeal to primary voters.

I generally like him. He understands change is needed.

My main objection to him is his refusal to fully uphold the 1986 immigration deal, which was that pre-1986 illegals would get to stay but that all future immigrants would have to abide by our laws from day 1.

We chastise the Chinese for not following the rule of law.

Due process of law is required by our Constitution with respect to all legal matters, including immigration.

You need to ask for admittance to our country. We can’t accept all the world’s surplus population, so we have to require people to queue up and then be subject to approval at our discretion according to our laws, not just a mere desire to get paid a higher hourly rate than in your own country.

Too many good people can create some very bad problems, such as high unemployment, dangerously overcrowded roads, unaffordable housing and homelessness.

We also need to change our taxation system [10% state/10% federal income tax caps for all but 1 million taxpayers and any tax above such rates limited to debt reduction, $1/finished square foot cap on property tax, no estate tax on personally possessed and used property] and pension schemes [$1 million lifetime max in government paid retirement benefits, $10,000/year max after 2019 if the paying government has run a fiscal year deficit in the last two years] and benefit handout systems [no person gets more than $8,000/year in handouts, no more than 10 million households get more $10,000/year in handouts, and no more than 20 million households get more $5,000/year in handouts, total handouts limited to 5% of GDP] before making changes to our immigration system.

We need to ensure a minority of productive citizens isn’t fleeced by a majority of lazy but greedy voters.

The establishment isn’t attacking Rubio, merely refusing to waste their money on a guy whose main campaign promise has been to add 11 million plus scofflaws to the electorate.

Cruz supports my values, so I support Cruz.

Trumps says some things that need to be said, but I don’t fully trust Trump. Tromper means to deceive/mislead in French.

Nice try Mario, but the voters aren’t that stupid.

I guess we both are misnamed. I’m not for Bush, and you’re not enlightened.
