Republican lawmakers on Virginia's Senate Courts of Justice Committee defied Governor Terry McAuliffe (D) by passing a bill on January 20 to allow concealed carry in the state without a permit.
Currently, Alaska, Arizona, Kansas, Maine, Montana, Vermont, and Wyoming allow concealed carry without a permit.
According to Fredericksburg.com, Republican lawmakers also struck down a bill supported by McAuliffe intended to "require background checks on all gun buyers at gun shows." McAuliffe has been pushing for such an expansion from the time he assumed the governorâs office.

Nice try there Virginia but sadly, like the lyin' king, asshat Mac has a pen and a phone. Is there enough support to overide his veto?

Is there enough support to overide his veto? Maybe in the House of Delegates but the Senate is evenly divided. Republicans have a 1 vote majority.

Hmmm. Doesn’t sound like they’ve got the upper hand then. And the downward spiral continues.

The only reason for gun registration, gun licensing and background checks is gun confiscation.

I’ll take the willingness of the legislature to pass such a bill as an incremental victory. For how long would such a thing not even been considered?
Let the people know that One Man stood in the way of their rights. (Never mind he’s the Governor...still just One Man, and that Governor thing can be fixed next election.)
