Archie Bunker sort of backfired on Lear.
He thought America would laugh at the guy because they found him as backward and detestable as he did.
In reality the show became a hit because most Americans identified with Archie. That had to eat Lear alive!
LOL Little did he know. You’d think he’d have gotten a clue, but they never do. They have this delusion that they are ‘’speaking for America’’. lol America just wishes they’d smoke their dope, MYOB, & shut up.
It didn’t eat the elitist a-hole alive, it simply filled him with more contempt for non-elite Americans than he already had!
