Trump hits ‘wacko’ Glenn Beck for Cruz support
The Hill ^ | 1/21/2016 | Bradford Richardson 2 17

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump is going after Glenn Beck for throwing his support behind GOP primary rival Ted Cruz, calling the conservative activist a "wacko" and a "lost soul."

Trump also said his endorsement from former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin trumps Cruz's endorsement from Beck.

"Wacko [Glenn Beck] is a sad answer to the [Sarah Palin] endorsement that Cruz so desperately wanted," Trump said in a tweet on Thursday. "Glenn is a failing, crying, lost soul!"

Beck announced on Tuesday that he would campaign with Cruz on Saturday in Iowa.

A longtime opponent of Trump, the Tea Party icon said he was disappointed in Palin's decision to endorse the billionaire businessman.

"I couldn't disagree with her more but she has played the game now for years," Beck wrote in a Facebook post on Tuesday. "Perhaps she knows more than those of us still on the outside."

Well if you consider a few meetings, lunch at Perry's, visit a construction site (hard hat included), dinner at Eleven Madison Park....off to night night a hard days work....ok, sure.

Yeah - when you’re as successful as he has become, we’ll talk. Until then, it’s mice throwing pebbles at an elephant.

Bad move for the Cruz campaign.

You underplayed it Captain.

It should read: Extremely bad move for the Cruz campaign.

Guess we’ll never know will we?

So if Ted is so secure, why is he scrapping the bottom of the barrel and dragging out Beck? Looks rather desperate, because it is.

Why would I defend Beck? Is Beck running for President?

Do you think it proper for a Presidential candidate to be insulting people publicly?

You're correct. If my daddy would have given me a corporation..sure.

Trump inherited the corporation and renamed it, Trump Enterprises. Ok, good for him. Just pointing out, Trump doesn't really know the life of the ordinary fella. Just doesn't.

This is why he acts like a spoiled child throwing personal insults at all the candidates. I've not heard substance from this guy yet. I I I, me me me, you're sad, you're a loser, I'm great, they're stupid.

Come on man! Don't trust him. Besides, the republican establishment is half heartily supporting Trump now only because they DO NOT want a true conservative in office.

It will be quite a different story come convention time. They'll turn on Trump and attempt a brokered convention.

If most of these candidates remain in the race...no one will have the 1236 delegates come party time. Count on it.

Yeah, you sound like some kind of Democrat. Trump took a ten million dollar corporation and turned it into a ten BILLION dollar one. That’s three orders of magnitude of growth. That’s not something that just happens while you’re swinging a golf club somewhere. If he was truly a loser, he’d have just ran it into the ground, and then ended up broke and working at the gas station, posting in his spare time on internet forums under a screen name like “servantboy888” or something.

That's pretty funny. Well Yash, I certainly hope the blowhard is as conservative as y'all feel he is. Remember, Bush ran on the whole, “compassionate conservatism” thang.

He ended up spending more $$$ than all presidents before him...combined. Right before he left office, pushed a massive bank bailout. Our tax dollars bailed out big bankers and insurance companies...for what?

So, I'll vote conservative principal in Cruz. If Trump gets the nomination, which I doubt, then we go with it. If he turns out to be a liberal/moderate, I will shake my head and acknowledge...we get what we vote for.

At the end of the day, we are all on the same side here on FR. There are a few trolls, but for the most part it's folks who love a spirited debate. Don't have to get personal.

With that, folks are flat damn tired of the corruption, the hundreds of millions of foreign money and the lobbyist circumventing the will of the citizens.

The support for Trump and Cruz together testifies to the anger Americans are venting toward corrupt individuals like Reid, Pelosi, Obama, McConnell, Boehner. I love seeing it.

You think like a child.

I see it’s acceptable to bash Palin or anyone who shows support for Trump, so it is fair to imagine Cruz voters wanting to defend those who support him. Too much of a stretch?

I think most people have. Does he even have many subscribers over there any more? I wonder what the numbers are.

Disclosure: I was a subscriber for the first two years though I rarely watched. Chalkboard days, etc. I thought perhaps he was going to do some good not go full raving cuckservative insane.

I think it was the discover channel. Maybe History channel about Gold. The company that Beck ran ads for constantly (Calif company) was cited for getting callers interested in gold then selling them OVERPRICED coins etc.

Thank you, IC Ken. The financial world is so linked to the political world now that it is really hard for the little guy to know where to put his stash. That is a really sad thing for Beck. He has tried to do too much, too soon instead of riding his success in a manageable arc.

I’m a quick learner. I’ve observed from the onset just how the Cruz fans react. Sad that so many seem so very lost.

Thank goodness, Guenevere, someone else who, like I, have watched, or rather HEARD this on Becks 3 hours of his show that comes on my local talk station each weekday morning. You described it exactly right. Just as I don't think people listen to Trump's speeches yet they form opinions about Trump without listening, they haven't heard Beck the last few months and how his show has become 1/2 a french kiss on Ted Cruz's mouth and the other half the venal and vulgar and what you said attacks on Trump. Obsessed attacks. Scary, out of control attacks. And the munchkins who accompany him laugh at his lame jokes with him, fearful they'll lose their job if they are the first to stop laughing or if the boss thinks they do not express enough hate and ridicule toward Trump.

Half of Beck's show now is basically Trump hair jokes and other ad hominem jokes about Trump. Over half. Beck is obsessed. Then again Beck has the same puppetmaster that Cruz does: Tax Cheat Hedgefund billionaire Robert Mercer. So they have to dance to the tune that the donor and lobbyists call.

Yep!
I listened to him for years.......watched his Fox show.......and he was on target for a long time....made sense

....and then the theatrics began.....and I tuned in less.....
...and then Trump declared.......and Beck went insane......
.....and how hurtful Beck’s been to others like Sarah
....Beck has become disgusting, insulting, vulgar, mean

.....and as someone who was pro- Cruz for over a year (me!).....I am gobsmacked he asked Beck to campaign with him.
