From almost the first day he entered the 2016 race, Jeb Bush has cast himself as the cerebral, wonky adult in a room full of colorful, bombastic Republican candidates.
After the rise of Donald J. Trump, and the terrorist attacks in Paris and San Bernardino, Calif., Mr. Bush doubled down on that strategy, using Mr. Trump as a foil to try to show that he was a serious candidate for serious times.
On Tuesday, Mr. Bush will take his message of national security and somber foreign policy to New York and the Council on Foreign Relations, where he will give a high-profile speech that will emphasize both his implicit and explicit campaign message: that he is best prepared to be commander in chief.

Reporting to his bosses about why he is failing.
No argument there! !!
Bush is being clobbered by Trump in FL by close to 40 points. It’s definitely too hot for Bush in FL, so he felt more comfortable, and less humiliated, in NY.
Do they do something sinister to him for failing like SPECTRE would do in a James Bond movie? /Sarc
I phoned the National Constitution Center to speak my mind the day JEB! was giving an honor to HILLARY! These types just all hang out and give each other prizes and meet to reassure one another that they are still the power elites....
The Council on Foreign Relations is a non-government body which conducts discussions in secret and provides clandestine guidance to the US government in formulating foreign policy. It is a dangerous, elitist, globalist organization like the Bilderbergers. I suggest you educate yourself before making ignorant snarky remarks
I read the Birchers material in the 1970’s and when they tried to explain the CFR and internationalism they actually mentioned the notion of a transnational conspiratorial organization by referring to the writings of Ian Fleming, the author of the Bond books.
Their message was that Fleming’s writings were referring to something the author believed in along the lines of the John Birch Society’s beliefs.
My sarcasm was based on my reading experiences with the Bircher material back then.
Clearly multinational forces are at work in the world today in a negative way.
Nigel Farage speaks to the notion of a corporatist society linking big governments, big banks and big business when he discussed his fight to get the UK out of the EU.
I’m in his camp on this.
The Council on Foreign Relations and Bilderbergers are a part of this. I don’t belong to the John Birch Society.
When ever I hear about Jeb, I see that photo of him picking his nose..........gotta love Trumps people posting that in response to Jeb challenging Trump to a one on one debate.
Well, that will certainly build a bridge to the conservative base Jebecito has so alienated thus far.
“Reporting to his bosses about why he is failing.”
Exactly, these are the evil people who select the President,
Probably will get orders to back off from Rubio,
