On January 19, Donald Trump, the loudest Republican claimant to the anti-establishment label, filled out his recent attacks on Ted Cruz in a very telling way, as revealed on Mark Levin's radio program ...
We've been contacted by the establishment types. They all want to know, how do they get involved with the campaign? They're giving up on their candidate...and I mean these are real establishment people, that I've known when I was a member of the establishment -- meaning a giver, a big donor. But they are contacting us -- Corey [Trump's campaign manager], I think we can say that very honestly, they're contacting us left and right about joining the campaign, and these are serious establishment types.
Who might these "real," "serious" establishment types be? Perhaps there is a hint in this subsequent comment, a follow-up to his recent pro-establishment assault against Ted Cruz:
So when you talk about temperament, Ted has got a rough temperament, I don't know. You know, you can't call people liars on the Senate floor, when they're your leader.
This, of course, is a direct reference to Cruz's criticism of Mitch McConnell regarding the GOP establishment leader's secret deal with Barack Obama prior to a trade vote.

They know damn well they can work with Cruz because their fat cat funding champs have Mrs. Cruz in their pocket already. Ted's chicken dung excuse for making TPP easy to pass is proof the GOPe can rely on him when push comes to shove.

We all witnessed Donald Trump put Illegal Immigration on the national agenda on the day that he announced he was running for President.
You denied that he had done it, when anyone who watched his announcement saw it for themselves. It became the major issue when he did it, reinforced by the shooting of Kate Steinle shortly afterwards.
And yes, it’s obvious that you hate Trump, that’s why “In Before Nick Carraway” became an FR joke.

I don’t know if they got my number from my supporting him when he ran for Senator here, or from the GOP here, but it’s irritating as heck.
In fact, CW, it’s more irritating than the one time last week when my Trump yard sign was knocked down, and my house was egged.
Cruz: GOP establishment is ditching Rubio for Trump
"Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz is doubling up his attacks, targeting rivals Donald Trump and Marco Rubio in one fell swoop.
Cruz on Wednesday said the GOP establishment is lining up behind Trump because they think Rubio is faltering.
"Right now the establishment is abandoning Marco Rubio," Cruz said, according to the Washington Post.
"They're making the assessment that Marco can't win this race, and the Washington establishment is rushing over to support Donald Trump. We're seeing that every day. And Mr. Trump is welcoming the support of the Washington establishment."
The comments came on the same day 1996 GOP presidential nominee Bob Dole questioned Cruz's ability to work with Congress if he were to be president, while heaping praise on Trump.
"I question his allegiance to the party," Dole said of Cruz. "I don't know how often you've heard him say the word 'Republican' - not very often.
"If he's the nominee, we're going to have wholesale losses in Congress and state offices and governors and legislatures," he added.
Dole added that Trump, on the other hand, "can probably work with Congress, because he's, you know, he's got the right personality and he's kind of a deal-maker."
Cruz used these comments to launch an attack against Trump, questioning his commitment to conservatism.
"Indeed, Mr. Trump said that they should support him, because - he said - 'Ted won't go along to get along. He won't make deals with the Democrats.' Well, I don't think there are a lot of Republicans who think the problem with Republican leadership is that they won't make deals with the Democrats," he said.
"We are seeing more and more the establishment calling out their support for Donald Trump," Cruz added.
"Look, Donald Trump was very candid. On the Sunday shows recently, seven months ago, he said he was the establishment. Well, that hasn't changed. There's a reason the establishment is attracted to Donald Trump."
Nah, that’s too tinfoil. Trump is a tool of Trump. Sadly, he’s made many wonderful conservatives his tools because they want to believe he’s not using them for his own personal gain. Also, the GOPe will use whatever tool they can to bring down Cruz, and right now Trump’s tantrums are giving them plenty of free air time.
Seems possible. Trump could be a Rove/RINO plant. Something voters will need to evaluate for themselves.
You need to pay more attention and not believe everything the media tells you. Last summer nothing happened on immigration. It was all about Donald Trump this and Donald Trump that. Smoke and mirrors. And Trump’s approach displayed a complete lack of conservative thinking.

Trump eventually says nice things about most everyone he has to work with. For example, Nikki Haley looked very relieved that Trump didn’t eat her for lunch at the last debate. Now she’s indebted to him in a sense, which keeps her from becoming an enemy, which is what he needs to help win SC. I think they know that he’ll reward good behavior by making them look good. But if they fight him, there’ll be heck to pay.
I believe some of these people are lining up because they’re realizing what side their bread is going to be buttered on and they’re positioning themselves to be rewarded rather than punished.
You’ve got some very brittle people here.
Let them live in a fantasy world, one where Ted can save everyone, even little puppies.
They want to look at every nit concerning Trump, and could care less if Ted was Trashing Proposition 187 in 1999.

Trump hasn’t been in government, but he’s already gotten more done than Cruz and he’s at least a year away from holding office.

Cruz called the Senate majority leader a liar in July. He says he wants to break up the Washington cartel.
So the evil cartel has punished him by censure and removed him from committees, or at least removed him from his subcommittee chairs, right?
Nope. His punishment for open rebellion has been verbal and unofficial.
After the Supreme Court mandated a right to homosexual marraige, Cruz called for retention elections of Supreme Court justices. This constitutional change isn’t likely to happen anytime soon, but for a candidate with eligibility questions that can only be finally decided by that court, it seems to be an unwise proposal.
Maybe he has cartel assurance that his eligibility problem won’t get that far, or that the court that propped up Obamacare twice as well as forcing “gay” marraige on the country will suddenly become conservative Cruz fans if it does get that far.
It’s easy to cast Rino aspersions. Perhaps when GOPe candidates and super pacs start spending millions to attack Cruz, or make him sign a pledge to not run third party, then those aspersions will seem far fetched.
It reminds me of the Twilight Zone episode "The Good Life" - Townspeople and family: "That's a real good thing you did Anthony; we love you Anthony..." [Anthony: "I hate anyone that doesn't like me - they shouldn't have thought those bad thoughts about me.".....off to the cornfield. "Don't think bad thoughts about me or I'll do the same thing to you."]
Rush insults his audience daily when he "explains," "excuses" and laughs at Trump's "amusing" antics - saying that somehow we "don't get" Trump, while at the same time insisting that he's being an objective observer.
Many of us "get" Trump loud and clear. We just don't want a liberal running as a conservative and having Rush tell us to sit back and enjoy it.
