The most unusual tribunal in the republic meets around 25 times per year, usually on Tuesdays in the gray-paneled conference room on the third floor of the Reichstag where conservative parliamentarians often meet. At the front sits the defendant, German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Her accusers sit at the long rows of tables before her, the three or four dozen backbenchers who are increasingly adopting the tone of a public prosecutor when addressing Merkel's refugee policies.

Last week saw the most recent such session. "We must finally begin to effectively register the refugees," said Armin Schuster, a member of Merkel's Christian Democrats who specializes in domestic affairs. "We can't keep quiet about uncomfortable truths," complained fellow-CDU member Klaus-Peter Willsch. Mark Hauptmann, another conservative from the state of Thuringia, said: "We have to reduce the number of illegal migrants coming to Germany from the Balkans."

The accused, who in the past had made a habit of delivering extended remarks in her own defense, said nothing this time in response. She silently listened to the accusations while tapping listlessly into her mobile phone or staring at the ceiling in annoyance. ...

I hate to break it but she’ll likely get re-elected or at worst a cushy semi-retirement or some new position. She is doing the (power elite’s) bidding and she will be rewarded. There are none that we would recognize. The only conservative party got less than 5% and so does not get a single seat. Merkel’s party is to the left of the American democrat party.

But she is facing internal challenges because she is destroying them as a viable party and they know it.

In my book Merkle has been a big disappointment. Trump has already taken a shot at her so they will not be on friendly terms if Trump is elected.

Beneficial crisis. The fiscal crisis wasn’t enough to induce the member states of the EU to surrender the remainder of their national sovereignty, so they’re going for broke, perhaps literally. The elites that believe in “ever-closer union” are fanatics; just stone-faced ones.

And this was just from extensive Wikipedia research last week. I was curious about German government, how it works, how the Chancellor gets elected...etc.
I am now more mystified than before.

There are wiki sites that explain the US government for example,, Constitution,, three branches, how they relate to the states,, etc. The general basic outline.

I never found a similar site for Germany. I found one about the Chancellor. I found one about the respected president, close to a monarch with reserve powers over Merkel that I didn’t know existed. I found one about political parties.
but no site tying it all together.
I think it might be that nobody really truly understands it and it is designed to prevent the people from being able to control anything in any meaningful way.

So take my research with a pound of salt.

There is something mentally very wrong with Merkel and those who support her.

How can they not see they are destroying for all time what has been a beautiful country with great traditions going back many millennium? Maybe they do see it and that’s the point for them.
