Via the Blaze, I was going to write a post about her blaming PTSD -- and Obama -- for her son's domestic violence arrest but I can't get past the first line of the clip below. The candidate who'll respect what our veterans go through is the guy who ... mocked her former running mate's heroism in enduring the Hanoi Hilton because he had the misfortune of being captured in the first place? Palin circa 2009 would have destroyed Trump for that. Palin 2016 doesn't blink. Increasingly I feel like the Trump campaign is a test to see how far he and his surrogates can go in backtracking on prior beliefs before some of his fans say, "Yeah, wait, that doesn't square with you used to say." His reversals on things like abortion are already priced into his stock; attacking Cruz for a Goldman Sachs loan after years of gleefully greasing the palms of political cronies is something new, but there's no sign of damage from that either. Maybe Palin pretending that Trump, who sought and received student and medical deferments during Vietnam before he goofed on McCain last summer for being some sort of POW chump, will crack the ice a bit. Or maybe nothing will.

Russia agreed to provide military training for three leftist regimes in Latin America and increase military visits and exercises following a visit last week to the region by Moscow's Defense Minister Sergei Shoygu, Pentagon officials said.
Shoygu met with defense and military leaders in Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua and signed several agreements on warship visits and military training during the visit, which ran from Feb. 11 to 14. It is not clear whether any new arms deals were completed during the visit.
Defense officials said the Russian leader is seeking bases in the region for strategic bomber flights that Shoygu recently promised would include flights over the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean.

Nothing will change a trumpee’s mind. Palin lost me. In her quest for wealth and fame - I guess that is what it is - has left her principles behind.
Is she trying to deflect her son’s wife beating to Obama in attempt to absolve herself? I don’t think she is responsible or Obama. It is on him, he is the one charged.
And right there with Trig she supports someone who mocks a disabled man in front of millions and that is okay.

None of them know what the troops go through. If they did, they would stop sending them on futile nation-building missions that never end. It’s a travesty. No American should be in the Middle East fighting for any Muslim faction. They all hate us.
Bring US troops home, put on our borders, ban Islam in civilized countries, deport Muslims, institute “pet the pig” to enter a non-Muslim country, and let the Sunni and Shia fight to the death.
No politician has the courage to do what really needs to be done. It’s all BS to make people think they’re really tough. Nothing will stop terrorist attacks in the US unless we get rid of Islam in our country. If they sneaked back in after being deported and pulled another terrorist attack, we should nuke Mecca.
This nonsense about using our troops by fighting a WWII style war as if this disorganized group of goat-humpers was an entity like Nazi Germany is incredibly stupid.

Have you ever spent time with vets freshly back from Iraq or Afghanistan? Especially the young ones? Have you spent time with the wounded ones and the severely wounded one? Have you volunteered your time?
I don’t think so. You would not be as mean and hateful. These vets need all our help regardless of what they have done. They sacrificed a lot for you. You might want to sacrifice a little for them.
Your hate for Palin and Trump makes you want to scapegoat the vets any vet to fuel your bitter resentments.

Remember that Sarah is a parent sticking up for her child who’s in trouble. Is she supposed to say to Track and millions of others that he just screwed up and needs to bear the consequences? Is she supposed to say that just a few hours after she learned of the incident?
I said elsewhere that I think Trump might have stood by her on stage in case she needed help with her composure. As he stood there he had a gentle expression on his face.

I totally agree. Everyone on this forum should go down to the local VA and volunteer for a year and spend time with the returning vets. Dealing with the ones who are physically whole is hard enough but dealing with the ones who have lost a body part or more is simply unimaginable. When I come back from one of these visits I am not myself for several days afterwards.
It is simply indescribable to explain what these people have gone through and to explain how utterly callous and self centered the rest of the society is to their sacrifice.
