Sarah Palin’s decision to let populism trump principle is a fatal flaw

...

Shapiro is absolutely right, and kudos to him for being willing to write it. The populist twinge to the original Tea Party was fine because it was promoting freedom and liberty, smaller government, and sound fiscal policy. But the populism running rampant today, which Sarah Palin is supporting, isn’t promoting what the original Tea Party stood for. It’s here where Palin is abandoning the values she claims to stand for, all in the name of populism and strong man syndrome. She should know better, and it’s disappointing she’s gone down this road. It isn’t surprising, but it’s still disappointing...

Not the first time in the History of man this has happened. Many times and many bad things have happened because of it.

Stupid is as Stupid does.

Well, we tried. Considering the alternatives, these two were good for a dice roll.

Reminds me of that old country song.....

It’s not “populism”, it’s American nationalism and particularism, and it’s about time.

David? David Axelrod? Is this you? I wondered what happened to you after high school. Will you be able to make it to our high school reunion?

The author’s right. It’s not surprising, but it’s disappointing that she’s gone down the populist/strongman road.

Hate to break it to her, but populism IS going to carry the day here.

Either the Trump/Palin variety, or the Sanders/Warren style. But it IS going to carry the day.

We have a corrupt Republican party, either blackmailing or threatening our tea party candidates, and you want to blame this on Sarah Palin.

Something is going on in this country with our politico’s and it’s not that they want to get invited to the right cocktail parties.

I have no idea why they are not brave enough to stand up to this corruption, nor do I, or anyone else know which ones were plants before being elected. But, one thing I do know is that it is wrong, and someone needs to get to the bottom of it.

This trashing of one person who is truly trying to help get to the bottom of this corruption is disgusting.

It’s not just here that something is wrong, Europe is being systematically destroyed as well. Millions of people don’t just simply decide all at once to leave everything behind and hurl themselves into Western Nation. Herds are driven.

You are correct, something is very wrong. At present, Trump is the symbol of resistance to this yet unnamed entity that is setting the world ablaze.

Hey dumb ass!

Voters chose Obama because of the color - black.

Voters are choosing Trump because of the colors- red, white and blue.

Do YOU- see ANY- difference- at- all?

Disappointed in Palin but I don’t know what her situation is. Maybe she needed to get an in to some government post.

Goodness knows, no one had mentioned her for eons until this endorsement.

Sarah Palin did help Cruz get his Senate seat and he has thanked her on multiple occasions.

So it is puzzling that she would endorse a liberal.

Trump?

The man who glibly, without shame, talks about how his money buys access to politicians (hence spreading the money around without thought of party or ideology) and you suggest that he is trying to get to the bottom of the corruption?

It’s becoming Orwellian.

Now before you go on about how I am anti Trump, note that I am, but primarily because he is a member of the political set. It’s not personal.

The man who glibly, without shame

Why should he be ashamed of what our corrupt govt. does with the full support of the electorate? Do you honestly not think that there would be some kind of protected rodent species by the EPA to stop a Trump building from being built? i remember back 20+ year ago, Microsoft gave no money to politico’s. They were making money hand over fist. Of course our corrupt govt. hauled their butts into congress wanting their share of the pie. Since then, microsoft has had lobbyists.

To blame DT because the American people keep voting into office criminals, well, it’s pretty sad.

One more thing, I was talking about Palin getting to the bottom of the corruption. she is the only one to have a track record on stopping this kind of thing.
