According to a just-released poll from Florida Atlantic University broadcast on MSNBC, in a 12 person Republican primary, Donald Trump is blowing the pack away in Florida with an incredible +32 point lead. The billionaire businessman currently enjoys 48% support in the Sunshine State, a +12 point jump from November.

There are at least 3 families from NY on my block of suburban northeast FL. Team Cruz can spin all they want but the fact is they were badly damaged by attacking all NYers instead of just Trump.

What’s happening in Florida is not just about NY. North Florida is full of folks who have southern conservative values and south Florida is full of old folks who served in Korea, Vietnam, worked their whole lives, paid taxes, and are fed up with seeing their grand children’s country turned into a third-world socialist hell-hole... Plain and simple... Trump represents both groups well and gives them the voice they long for

I’m from NY and South Carolina is home now. I didn’t take offense at Cruz’ insult as much as I was offended by the politics of it.
Trump is trying to abandon the kind of lazy red-state-blue-state politics that we’ve become used to over the past few decades. Trump is trying to unite people across the political spectrum and he’s using conservative ideas to do it. I thought Cruz was smart enough to at least recognize that and emulate it.
I know how strong the anti-illegal sentiment is amongst NYers. I know for a fact that a candidate campaigning strongly against illegal immigration can be very competitive there. There are huge swaths of people in NY who could disagree with a candidate on every other subject, yet will crawl across broken glass to vote for a candidate who will stop illegal immigration. There are even a lot of them in NYC.
Cruz arrogantly wrote off the entire state and indicated that he is no different than any of the other consultant-driven stooges we’ve had for candidates in recent years. He showed himself to be more Mitt Romney than Ronald Reagan. That’s what bothered me about it.

It's not even an attack. It is a statement. Trump has used the same phrasing himself.

Russert asked Trump about gay marriage. Trump didn't want to comment on it, but said he has no problem with gays in the military.
He explained, "I've lived in New York City and Manhattan all my life, okay? So my views are a little bit different than if I lived in Iowa."
When Russert asked Trump about abortion, he said he's "pro-choice in every respect" and again cited his New York background, which he said has a "different attitude" from most of the country.

Amen brother. Families from both sides came into North Florida in the early 1800’s. Everyone I talk to is for Trump.
Gotta laugh at the media. Some candidates “soar”, if Trump is moving up, he is “rampaging”.
LOL... using Trump’s own words is making “lame excuses”? I guess if that’s all you have to fall back on, you can go ahead and stand on that. Those who can read and reason will likely differ in their opinions.
I would think Florida would be ideal for a guy like Trump.
