It Would Be Just Like the GOP Establishment To Back Trump
Redstate ^ | 1/19/16 | Leon H. Wolf

Within the last nine months, Donald Trump has mocked a disabled reporter for his disability, suggested that Megyn Kelly was on her period during the course of a debate, made fun of Carly Fiorina's looks, and called the entirety of the Republican leadership "stupid" more times than I can count. Now he is bashing Ted Cruz for - I kid you not - having bad manners with an esteemed member of the Republican Establishment:

"Ted has got a rough temperament, you can't call people liars on the Senate floor when they are your leaders. Not a good thing to do if you want to curry favor and get the positive votes later on own," Trump said.

"Ted is worried about his temperament, people are talking about his temperament. I haven't talked about his temperament but he's got to be careful because his temperament has been questioned a lot."

This follows Trump's decision earlier today to quote the "highly respected" crony capitalist repeat tax hiker Terry Branstad in making an attack on Cruz.

If they spent more time demanding Cruz back in August and September take and exceed the positions Trump took, then they wouldn’t be sitting here whining and lashing out.

They were pleased as punch when he was out there ripping into Jeb and Rove, and changing the debate to illegal immigration and radical Islam, though.

You need to read this article;

Honesty versus Brutal Frankness
http://rebirthofreason.com/Articles/Stolyarov/Honesty_versus_Brutal_Frankness.shtml

That is what Trump is talking about.

Well, Palin also endorsed Romney, McCain and a few other losers, so her track record is not perfect. I like Sarah, but she has a problem with occasionally endorsing some very un-conservative candidates. I think she just did the same thing - perhaps in part because of the rumored promise of the Secretary of Energy job?

Cruz got caught with with his hand in the Wall Street cookie jar,
while he railed against Wall Street.

No, they won because spineless people like you wouldn’t stand up and back Cruz when it counts. Just like right now.

What he said was “you need to curry favor” maybe that means something different to you than it does to me.

What’s worse is Cruz is a piker compared to the “deals” Trump has made with Goldman Sachs. But that doesn’t count... Trump is funding his own campaign they say well that money is from his business dealings with Goldman Sachs and many others...

Cruz praised Palin today for her support of his 2012 Senate run.
In fact, gave her credit for his senate win.

Cruz has had a very bad day.
Maybe he will have a better day tomorrow.

OK, I read it. Several completely different lessons can be gleaned from the essay in the context of this particular subject. I think I know which you are referring to.

But I believe Trump, as with his Ethanol position today, simply sees a chance to differentiate himself from his opponent for political advantage. Its really that simple.

Cruz allowed Trump to do all the heavy lifting and take all the heat, because he lacked the sack to do it himself...... now Trump is reaping the benefits

Probably. But I prefer a politician who does not try to ‘curry favor’ with another who lies to him in order to obtain his cooperation.

Yes, and??? Just because she has made some good choices doesn't change the fact that she has also made some bad ones. IMHO, this is one of the bad ones.

The GOPe can see the writing on the wall. They are scrambling to stay in the game. Trump knows exactly what the hypocrites are up to. They are trying to ride on his coat tails only because they can't beat him.

Never mind any other reason(s). Why would a political party support a man that can't or won't validate his eligibility to be President?

Are you people brain dead over this clown or what?

I didn’t even make it through the first sentence.

Looks like it was written by Eugene Robinson or Charles Blow.
