A spokesman for Sen. Ted Cruz's presidential campaign said Tuesday it would be a "blow" to former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin if she endorsed businessman Donald Trump for president.
"I think it [would] be a blow to Sarah Palin, because Sarah Palin has been a champion for the conservative cause, and if she was going to endorse Donald Trump, sadly, she would be endorsing someone who's held progressive views all their life on the sanctity of life, on marriage, on partial-birth abortion," Cruz campaign spokesman Rick Tyler said on CNN's "New Day."

Cruz isn’t eligible. He knows it, Trump knows it, Palin knows it, the RNC knows it, and the state GOP operations know it. The only people who don’t know it are the unwashed masses, who have been duped.
I see a lot of operatives here like you.
It is not a good thing for Trump.
People aren’t stupid.
That's a very excellent point, and one I hadn't considered.
I've always though Sarah seems rather likable in a personal way. I've admired her spirit and the way she managed to smile despite the fact she was so ill-used by the McCain bunch.
Although I thought it was rather tacky to hint she was running from president and then didn't, but she could have easily been waiting for a signal that never came.
I'm sure she'll be a bright spark at the rally, though. Can't wait to see it!
IIRC, Branstad was staying out of it. All he said was that questioning Cruz’s qualifications, or observing that his qualifications are in question, was fair game for other candidates to bring up.
Ah yes, because most conservatives support partial birth abortion, support the government taking land from private citizens to give to other private citizens, and support national healthcare.
Real conservative...
Trump is square in the middle of that chart, he is whatever you want him to be, because he wants nothing more than to get elected. He has the record to back that claim up too.
So Cruz is already attacking Palin...
Ted sure wanted her endorsement when he ran for senate
Could be. That has always been my worry about Cruz.....that and the H1B visas, and TPP vote.
In this case the only ones who give her any thought in the political realm are what Buckwheat lovingly refers to as “bitter clingers”.
In this case Osama might have a point.
But welcome to the circus...oh one of endless ridicule.
JMHO
You are right, nobody but politicians can be trusted to keep their word.
Trump would be a slash and burn president and is feared by most of the insiders that do crony capitalism because he knows personally most the players.
We are way past liberal /social issues. It is time to tear down the central authority and then rebuild. There is no fixing the current govt. Trump is one way to tear down Washington, there are others..........
I have a cold and I'm so tempted to call in sick so I can see it. Was hoping the rally started earlier, before I go to work.
It is - because Palin still has a support base, many of whom are not yet completely familiar with Cruz. Now, they may never take the time to become so.
Palin endorsed McCain, also - so this is not really out of character. She is a more mainstream Republican than the pundits seem to believe.
When you hitch your wagon to a corrupt NY LIEberal, you’ve righly earned the vitriol that follows. If your honest, you will have to acknowledge that Trump is the nastiest out there when he doesn’t get his way or feels his manhood is threatened, but Cruz or anyone who supports him are somehow more vile than a DUmocrat? I don’t think so. Beyond the fact that he has been co sistently on the wrong side of EVERY issue, the whole Megyn Kelly Twitter fit is a prime example why Trump is unfit for the office...that temper is Yuge! To endorse him is a detriment to your credentials.
If Palin does this, it proves she’s not really a conservative, and maybe never was.
But it will probably make her popular with the lamestream media until Sen. Cruz is defeated.
Amazing. Fantastic. She’s amazing. She is is a
fantastic person. I am amazed.
Palin’s endorsement of a Senate candidate here in Missouri (just south of Iowa) a few years back had no effect on the outcome. The candidate she endorsed lost. I don’t think a Palin endorsement carries much weight anymore.
