One of the United States' most influential evangelical leaders blasted Liberty University President Jerry Falwell, Jr. on Monday for hosting Donald Trump to give a campaign speech.
Russell Moore, who heads the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, the public policy arm of the Southern Baptist Convention, let fly a series of tweets after Falwell gave a glowing introduction to Trump, calling him "one of the greatest visionaries of our time" and saying Trump "lives a life of helping others ... as Jesus taught in the New Testament."
Moore appeared incredulous at Falwell's language, which was more effusive than he had been with any other candidate, including Texas Sen. Ted Cruz:
I am SB and I wish that guy would just fade away. We are not electing a national pastor and just look at carter. He was SB, I think, when he was in office. I already sent letters to a few of our leaders so guess it is time to get my fingers in shape!
Some of the Trump supporters are also turning people off from him...just food for thought..
Jerry Jr. has the fame bug.
He hosted Romney for 2012 commencement a month after Mitt said two people of the same sex who “love each other” should be able to adopt kids.

Iâll still happily vote for Ted if he is the nominee.
eally?
Another loon chimes in.
When I took an election test, the kind that matches people up with candidates, I got a 93% agreement with Cruz, but only 55% with Trump. He was barely better than some Democrats and was the furthest out of all the Republicans.
The blunt fact is that Trump is a liberal - that 55% is probably inflated by his primary positions, given his track record for decades of public life before suddenly becoming a “Republican”. Let’s see him ditch his casinos and give a convincing explanation of why so much of his past life was wrong, first.
So there are going to be a lot of very disappointed people here if Trump becomes president. Just like with Bush. You guys never learn. You just keep voting for big-government leftists while pretending otherwise.
And you just keep up with your remarks, people reading this one in fact has just sent about 3 Cruz supporters over to another candidate....thank you so much for making sure Cruz goes back to Texas....
We can’t do it with out your snarky remarks, keep up the good work!!!
(Oh, ya mean like FR posters needing to grow up and let people make their own decisions on what they critique?)
Matthew 23:24 KJV
He is a leftist.
That he’s infiltrated the SBC speaks volumes actually.
The Art of the Deal is better than the Bible. Of course they would blast Trump. Trump is trying to usher in a new world government where we leave behind borders. Most Christians don’t like things like that.
You went to law school?
And of course it must be correct because you found it on the internet.
heh heh
A few months ago the popular internet quizzes magically lined up conservatives with Rubio. Shazam!
Jealousy is such a negative emotion.
I’m asking you kindly.....
....please don’t send me anymore of your links.
I DON’T WANT YOUR LINKS........if I want links I’ll ask for them.....
....but not yours.
Yep, went to Liberty on a full scholarship, made law review, etc., (but nearly bombed out of tax class - ouch, taxes are not my deal) and I have an active Illinois law license, and have litigated ballot access and eligibility issues successfully.
Peace,

I’m guessing that even the most die hard Cruz supporters are seeing the writing on the wall. Today has been ridiculous for dishonest posts, or just hateful posts. I sure hope we can get back to normal soon, but, I have to say, there are some longtime freepers that I would now stay clear of.
I really like the law school experience there. They really went out of their way to make sure we understood enough of the theological, philosophical and historical foundations of western legal theory that we can participate in the rebuilding effort. I am not sure who else does it that way.
Peace,
SR
