One of the United States' most influential evangelical leaders blasted Liberty University President Jerry Falwell, Jr. on Monday for hosting Donald Trump to give a campaign speech.
Russell Moore, who heads the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, the public policy arm of the Southern Baptist Convention, let fly a series of tweets after Falwell gave a glowing introduction to Trump, calling him "one of the greatest visionaries of our time" and saying Trump "lives a life of helping others ... as Jesus taught in the New Testament."
Moore appeared incredulous at Falwell's language, which was more effusive than he had been with any other candidate, including Texas Sen. Ted Cruz:
So now we’re going to be treated to a religious “food fight!”
Cry me a river. A lot of evangelicals don’t get it, but also many do.
The venue was Liberty University.
Some people need to just grow up.
Falwell Jr. all but endorsed Trump. More people are going to be endorsing Trump in the coming days. Deal with it.
Then this idiot needs to grow up and let people make their own decisions on who they want .
Liberty University also welcomed Bernie Sanders to campus.
Rev. Falwell is the only person in America actually keeping academic freedom and debate alive on campus.
That’s it?
“Grow up.”
: )
those introductory remarks would seem a bit Over The Top (for almost any of today’s politicians), imho
It was a packed house.
Two Corinthians walk into a bar.....
Russell Moore must want to get his 15 minutes in. Poor no name loser is trying to get in the news. Well I guess it worked. Problem is tomorrow he will be another “who the heck is he again” person.
Not this Leftist propaganda bot pretending to be a "Christian" again.
It’s the “Silly Season” alright.
The bartender says, "What is this, some kind of joke?"
Attendance was mandatory, so the fact that it was packed is kind of immaterial.
Actually it is “II Corinthians” 0r “2 Corinthians”
