DEACE: DONALD TRUMP A TYPICAL NEW YORK CITY LIBERAL THEN AND NOW
ConservativeReview ^ | 1/18/16 | Steve Deace

Posted on 01/18/2016 11:28:18 AM PST by gwgn02

The truth is you don't have to go way back to find that Trump always has been, and remains to this day, a typical New York City liberal. This explains why Trump so often engages in liberal tactics like victim blaming, blame-shifting, demagoguery, dishonesty, etc. And he does so usually through the exact same liberal media other liberals use. But don't just take my word for it.

Here's Trump in his own words:

If you think using Trump's 1999 interview where he admits his liberalism is unfair because it's too long ago, how about when Trump joined Bernie Sanders in advocating for a taxpayer-funded, single-payer healthcare system in 2015?

“And he’s a typical, open borders, globalist elite.”

That is just pure ignorance.

His bluster about Obama BC was just that, bluster that went nowhere.

Nothing else matters if we don’t shut down the border.

Liberal? Just because he accepts homosexual marriage, was for gun control, is a friend of the Clintons, praises DeBlasio and Hillary, wanted universal healthcare, will give amnesty to 11 million illegals, supported abortion, and attacks conservatives? How can they say that?

Sorry. But it is appropriate to question the veracity of a person running for office who has suddenly changed long held positions. Trump was very pro abortion and had absolutely no moral qualms about dealing with the Clintons, Cuomo, and whatever lowlife he had to patronize to advance his business interests. Says volumes about the core of the man and his ethics.

I looked at the sources in the article. I don’t appreciate the author’s tone, but he’s not lying (links don’t transfer):

If you think using Trump’s 1999 interview where he admits his liberalism is unfair because it’s too long ago, how about when Trump joined Bernie Sanders in advocating for a taxpayer-funded, single-payer healthcare system in 2015?

Sourced here.

If you think using Trump’s 1999 interview in which he admits his liberalism is unfair because it’s too long ago, how about when the baby-killers at Planned Parenthood named Trump their “favorite Republican” in 2015?

Sourced here.
If you think using Trump’s 1999 interview where he admits his liberalism is unfair because it’s too long ago, how about when Trump failed to support religious liberty in 2015?

Sourced here.

If you think using Trump’s 1999 interview where he admits his liberalism is unfair because it’s too long ago, how about when Trump said he wouldn’t tear up Obama’s Faustian Bargain with Iran back in 2015?

Sourced here.

If you think using Trump’s 1999 interview where he admits his liberalism is unfair because it’s too long ago, how about when Trump sounded like an anti-Israel liberal (claiming Israel may not want peace and will have to give up even more to Islamists) in 2015?

Sourced here and here.

If you think using Trump’s 1999 interview where he admits his liberalism is unfair because it’s too long ago, how about when Trump came out for a 45% tariff on imported Chinese goods in 2015 (and then lied about it in last week’s GOP debate)?

Sourced here.

By the way, polls show middle and lower-middle class Americans are most likely to support Trump. They would be the ones most devastated by Trump’s tariff scheme, because the higher cost of goods they buy at big box stores like Wal-Mart and Target would be passed on to them.

But I digress.

If you think using Trump’s 1999 interview where he admits his liberalism is unfair because it’s too long ago, how about when Trump donated $50,000 to Obamaista Rahm “never let a good crisis go to waste” Emanuel in 2010?

Sourced here.

If you think using Trump’s 1999 interview where he admits his liberalism is unfair because it’s too long ago, how about when despite all his tough immigration talk, Trump came out for amnesty in 2015?

Sourced here.

If you think using Trump’s 1999 interview where he admits his liberalism is unfair because it’s too long ago, how about when Trump used his pro-baby killing sister as an example of the type of Supreme Court justices he’d appoint in 2015?

Sourced here.

Actually, who you are as a person matters which is the ultimate conservative ideal in my humble opinion...

“That is just pure ignorance.”

That’s what anyone who looks at his amnesty for 11 million illegals is. You like the idea of Trump “expediting” illegals to get back to the US ahead of people waiting in line to enter legally?

Yeah - makes perfect sense.

Reagan wins two landslides and because Trump has comparatively big primary crowds to the other candidates today - he’s the next big thing.

No one compares Reagan on any level. Any true Conservative knows that. Then again, Trump is not a true Conservative.

I think when it comes time for president trump to appoint his first Supreme Court justice, there will be a lot of FReepers, who currently support him, that will stroke out. This is what scares me about him: I don’t know what kind of judges he will appoint and I know for a fact they won’t be more conservative that the ones Criz would appoint.

So then why did Cruz partner up with him, and allow him to get into the leader positions for months on end taking hard right positions without Cruz laying a glove on him?

Or is this one of those questions the “true conservatives” kinda want to avoid?

Trump is a complete fraud, has never lifted a finger for the conservative movement over any issue.

Reagan had been an FDR Democrat in the 1940s and then saw the light. He became a steadfast conservative - even when it was most unpopular - e.g., Goldwater 1964. And Reagan worked in the trenches for years for conservative causes and candidates.

Trump cannot ever be trusted.

Whatever happened to the big announcement about that Obama birthed crap he was coming out with? He said he had top men working on it and what they found was shocking.

Your guy goes to the border with Beck and hands out Teddy Bears to the illegals and that just encourages them. Trumps idea is not a touch back. There is a lot more to it. Quit telling lies.

What a joke, Cruz won’t even make them leave. If they come back its because they love America and have jobs, who says they will be Democrats. Did the Democrats give them the opportunity to come out of the shadows and be productive? Don’t believe everything the media spoon feeds.
