Strange as it may sound, Trump needs Cruz just as Cruz needs Trump.
The last thing I want is for our two non-establishment candidates to hurt each other. Trump can win this without trying to go negative on Cruz ...this is unnecessary.
So...why is he doing this?
Ask yourself why Cruz is attacking too.

1) Conspiracy Theory: Trump isn’t in the race to win. He wants (fill in the blank).
2) Human Nature Theory: It’s “Trump being Trump”.
Conspiracies can be real but advocating one can make one look silly because they are difficult to prove. I’ll take #2. Human beings have individual tendencies and Trump strikes me as a person who doesn’t take much advice. I’m guessing that the “natural born” strategy is just Trump following his instincts.
