Donald Trump’s Epic Weekend Meltdown

Maybe Donald Trump needs some of that "free" mental healthcare that the Democrats were talking about last night.

If you are like most ordinary Americans, you probably spent the weekend watching the NFL playoffs, or spending time with your family, or trying to avoid the freezing cold that gripped most of the country. You know, anything other than watching the Democrats "debate" or the political nonsense on Twitter and the cable shows.

Which is regrettable, because people who were paying attention finally got to see what The Donald is like when he's off his meds. It all started, as most things do where Trump is concerned, with an unhinged twitter rant Saturday morning. In it, Trump abandoned his cowardly (but politically wise) tack of saying that he believes Cruz is eligible, it's just that the evil Democrats are likely to make trouble for Cruz over it. He flat out started calling Cruz a "Natural Born Canadian" and furthermore peddling bizarre (and nonsensical) conspiracy theories about Cruz:

From there, Trump went to a rally in Myrtle Beach, SC, where he continued this line of attack and was booed by his own supporters:

Knock yourself out. I have a whole bunch of quotes I can give you made by Cruz that are polar opposites of what he says now. He has undergone a number of campaign conversions, especially on immigration.

I don’t agree with everything Trump says or does. I disagreed with things Reagan said, but I voted for him twice.

However, I have seen Trump speak on the issues 25 years ago at least, and he was saying the EXACT same thing then as he does now. There is a 25 year old You-tube video of an interview with Oprah Winfrey; except for his looks, it could have been made yesterday.

There was even a pathetic hit on Trump’s age. Cruz is punching way above his level. He already just about got KOed in a “youth and inexperience” moment when he doubled down on his NY values statement at the debate.

Both Cruz’s and Trump’s speeches are on the link on that thread. I watched both. Ted’s hit parts are sad, and the crowd response is weak compared to Trump’s. Ted hit on Trump for WAY longer than the 35 seconds Trump talked about Ted. Trump was direct and factual, Ted was not.

You know, during those 2014 US House and Senate state races Cruz was so silent on, where ALL FReepers were enraged at the dirty tricks operation the Establishment employed against Bevin, in order to reelect their old mule, THAD COCHRAN? Bevin was even leading in that race, the TEA Party candidate.

A few Evangelicals remember when Cruz went dark, never uttering a word of support to other conservatives battling the Establishment and NRSC, but instead Cruz poured an easy $200,000.00 into the McConnell-NRSC coffers in order to hire guns to take Bevins down, and did.
