Ted Cruz’s Father: My Son “Anointed” To “Take Control of Society”..
The Conservative Treehouse ^ | January 17, 2016 | Sundance

Posted on 01/17/2016 8:34:01 PM PST by abigkahuna

n a sermon last year at an Irving, Texas, megachurch that helped elect Ted Cruz to the United States Senate, Cruz’ father Rafael Cruz indicated that his son was among the evangelical Christians who are anointed as “kings” to take control of all sectors of society, an agenda commonly referred to as the “Seven Mountains” mandate, and “bring the spoils of war to the priests”, thus helping to bring about a prophesied “great transfer of wealth”, from the “wicked” to righteous gentile believers.

Why do you not read Cruz’ briefs and amici for your self instead of blind trolling?

>> “God only required 10% tithe...” <<

False!

He demanded 10% three times, thus 30%

Yes very good point, more then anything I belive this explains to us why some are so rabid about Him. It has been almost abnormal and driven.

Sorry, just about ALL mainstream Protestant sects are now LIBERAL!

What I'm talking about is the tenets of these churches, as they were set up and how they still DO practice; aside from the sermons.

For instance, some ANTI-TRUMP posters either didn't know, or faked surprise at the fact that Presbyterians ( i.e.Trump ) took communion. And the thing about asking forgiveness is a crock of you know what! Then there is the whole PREDESTINATION belief, which I'll gladly explain, if you REALLY want to know about that, which I suspect you do not.

Just WHAT religion are YOU ? Do you know its tenets? Better question.....DO YOU PRACTICE THEM ?

Interesting factoid. I wonder if it suggests something about a shift in the meaning of parties. Dunno. Just an interesting curiosity. But he was a brilliant writer and thinker. I have found him profitable.

BTW, I know this dominionist stuff sounds scary, but ...

1) a lot of what passes for dominionism is just old fashioned amillennialism with a dash of charismatic flavoring,

2) I live next to some true blue wacko dominionists that go much further, and it is nothing that would fit into Ted Cruz’s Southern Baptist beliefs or church life at all, so there’s a real disconnect there for me, and

3) my sense of the article referenced is that the author finds all politically active Christians threatening, especially their opposition to the gay agenda, etc. I’d be careful with this, because there is a strain of liberalism that loves to paint all Christians as closet theocrats, and they will do what I call “selective amplification” to make their point. It’s easy to get co-opted by such as these. Just sayin ...

Peace,

SR

He didn't mean to be "KING" or whatever. LOL

In the '80s, Trump was a very successful businessman and that's what he meant !

At the time Paul wrote “There is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.” (Romans 13:1), there was severe persecution from Nero, which was the most horrific time for Christians. Nero mounted their heads on poles and used them for night torches, for crying out loud! Yet from Scripture we know that nothing happens without God allowing it.

Yes, “we” demanded a “king”, and he surely gave us one in Barry. I wouldn’t necessarily say the Lord “anointed” him, but He gave “us” what we wanted, and He is using BO for His purposes. The question is- will we turn our faces to Him, or will we, as a nation, continue to push Him away?

Whatever happens, I know that God is in control, and that gives me such peace.

Are you crazy? What's the matter with you?

It's something serious.

Ah it was only 10% for the priest function. Today we have government collecting to care for the widows and orphans. The other 10% was for commemorating the holy days.. And I do not think the priest passed any plate to collect.

In some modern churches more time is spent in passing the plate than preaching the Word.

Obviously, you have less than NO idea what I know and what I don't know. Nor do you eve n know what religion I am.

I happen to be well versed in the Bible, though unlike some here, I don't post verses, nor a book and then the number of the verse. This is a Conservative political site ( though there is a religion section ) and as such, using and mostly MISUSING the Bible to prove or disprove a political point, is highly offensive to me.

The OT was written FOR JEWS, which Christians also use, as well as the NT. As such, the leaders/rulers/kings refer to those who are the Jewish kings. It had nothing at all to do with Persian Kings, Egyptian Pharaohs, Canaanite whatevers, Roman Emperors, etc.! Ask any Rabbi and see what he has to say on the matter. :-)

We are having a calm, interesting discussion and all he can do is try to disrupt, impugn, and insult.

I know several believers who attend Presbyterian Churches and have attended services at a few of them myself at various times. You can judge for yourself from his remarks if Trump understands the gospel and I won’t go in to that here. My problem is when he attacks the faith of others.

I am a regular participant in the religion forum here. I am Reformed Baptist. I know all about predestination, and myself am a Calvinist of the fifth water, which sort of confessional reformed person I suspect might have ceased altogether among any PCUSA churches.

I don’t know who you interacted with, but the issue with communion is the part about forgiveness. We who are more old fashioned about that were (and remain) quite shocked at the apparently cavalier way he made mention of it, and that it is premised on everyone being a sinner who needs forgiveness, and Trump, at best, has given some mixed messages about that. He wouldn’t pass the membership interview at the sort of church I attend. In his public comments at least, he reflects nothing that registers as the typical Christian experience, which begins with a bended knee at the cross. That’s why he’s not connecting with many conservative evangelicals. He just sounds off to us. Sorry if that disappoints, but it’s really how I see it.

BTW, Ted’s denomination, Southern Baptist, had a crisis a few years ago, where they almost lost the seminaries to the liberals. But this time the hard core conservatives fought back, and won, and the SBC, while not perfect, has strongly resisted the impulse to liberalism. Thank God Ted Cruz is a Southern Baptist, eh?

Peace,

SR

This is the exact same story that was posted here at least a week or two ago and found to be very misleading then. Now it has been posted at least three times today, as if it were new.

I guess it’s OK to bear false witness on someone if it serves a political purpose. Sad. Really sad.

“If you care to be critical of the man, at least do him the justice of hearing him. “

I thought I did hear him. I did not berate him. I said it wouldn’t retail well past the micro targeted Evangelicals. That is what I was a witness to.
