Ted Cruz has reached top-rank popularity among Republicans and Chris Christieâs favorability rating is most improved in the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll, while Donald Trump, Ben Carson and Jeb Bush all have stumbled in the battle for GOP hearts and minds.
On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton continues to far surpass Bernie Sanders in favorability among party regulars, and sheâs vastly more popular within the Democratic Party than are any of the Republican candidates within the GOP base. Still, gender and racial gaps mark Clintonâs standings, and Sanders pushes back among young adults, independents and the better-off.
Movement is greatest among Republicans. Trumpâs favorability rating within the GOP has dropped by 12 percentage points, from a high of 69 percent in November to 57 percent now; the decline has occurred almost exclusively among Republican women. Cruz, +7 points to 60 percent favorable, is +13 points among strong conservatives overall, a core GOP group; 76 percent now rate him favorably.

I suppose Cruz deserves his moment in the spotlight... like the rest of them.
This is from Jan 13th. Also, posted here before a couple of times.
What’s wrong with you people? This was posted on the 13th when it came out. I do not know how many times it’s been posted since then.
Are you guys literally working for the Cruz campaign and that is why it’s this 3 or 4 people who keep posting and reposting the same stuff?
And the article is a day before the debate that was on the 14th.
I can get two people posting breaking news within 2 minutes of each other, but these guys are doing this on purpose.
Popularity? And yet Cruz is still way behind Trump all the polls? How can that be? Maybe they like Cruz but realize as a Canadian he isn’t eligible to be president.
George Will made the case today that Christie still has a great chance to win the nomination.
The Establishment has been pushing this idea for at least a month.
Kasich will finish second in NH, which may give him enough gas to get to early March.
Once again, Ted is the most popular and Trailing Trump by 20 points in the polls.
I’m sure Trump is envious. /s
What do we know about ABC? It’s part of the MSM that doesn’t like Trump, but is cared to death of Ted Cruz.
LMAO
Somehow Trump will survive this Ted Cruz moment. There have been so many, and languish is the only outcome.
Hysterical much? Sheesh. It’s a long time until the convention. Stuff will happen.
This was pre-debate.
My guess is Cruz’s favorability will drop.
ABC is the most untrusted source of anything concerning Trump. They smear him almost every night and it is insanely obvious they are the strong arm of the democratic (Hillary) party.
That is my view as well.
My bad. I did a title search for the word “stumble” and it didn’t come up.
I would love to see Chris Christie as Trump’s Attorney General. He’s perfect for that job.
These so-called popularity polls are probably the least meaningful of all those taken during a campaign, and they seem to change much faster than those that ask for whom people intend to vote.
