Sad thing is... That is a believable explanation.

And a similar thing happened with Judge Maliki in Georgia. He said the candidate has the burden of proof and that he would hold Obama in contempt if he didn’t show for the hearing, but in the end he said that even though no evidence of eligibility was presented as he had said was required, he thought Obama was eligible. The “crystal ball” method of deciding cases. In Iran they call it “judge’s knowledge” - no evidence necessary if the judge thinks he knows without any evidence.
And the contempt of court charges? Maliki’s office unlawfully refused to certify the proceedings so there was no opportunity for anybody to file contempt charges.

This is why we need the case decided when the judge has to choose between Cruz the Terrible and Trump the Horrible (in the eyes of the thugs (either dem or repub, or foreign...) who would buy the judge off if possible/necessary).
