I went to college late 60’s and well into the 70’s plus did almost 2 years for Uncle Same as a draftee. The big heartburn for me was class scheduling. It would have been fantastic to sign up for, start/finish any class on my schedule.

I was on campus by 7 AM most days after a 25+ mile drive from home. Left campus after 7 PM and spent non-classroom hours at the library for want of another suitable space. Rarely had a problem getting my classes, but the schedules were inconvenient. Some required a brisk sprint across the whole campus to the next class. The quality of instruction was good, but hardly "convenient". I did score with a 319 slot on the draft lottery to go with my 1A draft card.
