On Thursday night, Ted Cruz was able to force Donald Trump to make an admission against his interest. Donald Trump admitted that the only reason he had raised the birther issue was because Ted Cruz’s polling had gone up. In September, Donald Trump had said his lawyers examined the issue from every angle and decided there was no issue. Suddenly, because of Ted Cruz rising the polls, it had become an issue.
Today on Twitter, Donald Trump is in a full throated meltdown against Ted Cruz. Given his admission on Thursday night, I wonder what Donald Trump’s internal polling shows him.

I simply do not see a meltdown in any way. Trump is competing. That is in no way a meltdown.
But the post-debate poll released today shows a 6-point national swing in Trump's direction since the debate.
Is it significant? Who knows, we'll wait for other post-debate polls to see.

Trump didn’t choose the birther thing. He was asked his comment about it by WaPo and gave the equivalent to a nothing answer. That Cruz should get it straightened out if it night cause a problem.
Cruz ‘ s response was the Font picture which was immature. Cruz fired the shot that ended their friendship.
