I’m just think people are getting desperate when they go back 20 years to dig up something. At least they should use some material from the last few years (like Goldman Sachs loans, or TPP votes, or massive H1B visa increases). Reagan was a democrat at some point as well.
Whats wrong is they are fanatics. And liberals. They vote for lesser evil and get more in the bargain.

Cruz is the best candidate running. When he ran against Dewhurst in Texas the odds were against him. Rove, Bush and the establishment supported Dewhurst. Cruz was endorsed by Palin and the Tea Party. Of course, they did not have the money that Dewhurst had but Cruz won! I remember how livid Rove was and upset the GOP E was..here came this underdog and he beat the big guy. Cruz promised his constituents that he would fight for them and he has kept his word. The people in Texas love him. He took the blame for the govt shutdown and incurred the wrath of many for calling Mitch a liar. Cruz is my man.
I thought you liked Trump? You praised him when he adopted the Gorelick / Jersey Girls / Cindy Sheehan rhetoric on the War on Terror if I recall correctly.
In any event, many around here would rather support a candidate who has literally attacked conservatives on the stump, uses vulgar language on the stump (yeah, that’s Presidential), proposes one big government program after another, defends Planned Parenthood and all of the “good things they do” because “we have to help women” even in the wake of those outrageous videos, attacks the fundamental freedom of private property rights and supports ultra liberal SCOTUS rulings like Kelo v. New London CT, supports the Obama stimulus, supports “universal healthcare” that “the government’s gonna pay for!”, joined the liberal media smearing of Justice Scalia, and so on, and so forth, and if you even express the slightest concern over any of this, you are jumped on as an agent of the GOPe, RINO, liar, etc. or they will say these things were in Trump’s “distant past” - even those things said in very recent years and during this very campaign.

Now that's where you lost me. You just did what you have accused others of doing. Because neither Trump nor Cruz is GOPe. I sure wish those two could form some sort of alliance, or at least a lasting truce.

By definition a “true conservative” does not lie. Ted Cruz lied to the audience in the debate. That lie was a cynical attempt to deceive the listeners with a strawman argument that misrepresented the definition being used for the citizenship of the parents of a natural born citizen. This and other falsehoods ranging from his financial loans to his positions on illegal immigration and more demonstrate a pattern of deceit and hypocrisy that are inconsistent with the moral values of the “true conservative’ you ave mentioned.
It really is bewildering. So many FReepers misrepresenting Ted Cruz, and so wholeheartedly supporting The Donald.

I am a Cruz supporter, but I will support Trump as my number 2 choice and will happily vote him into office for POTUS.

All true. I believe Trump has now become the GOP-E candidate, he is a deal maker and as he said cash for favors is just a part of deal making. The “deals” the GOP-e wants made appear to be with democrats and the us chamber, “The Donald” has been there before.
