What state is Dubuque in? If you answered Chicago, you are correct. Chicago's no state, you say? Don't be so 18th century - so "constitutional." Dubuque is in Chicago, which is now a kind of state. Or to put it differently, the Obama administration is in the process of replacing our entire system of government â made up of nested local, state, and national, levels â with a regional framework. In Obama's new dispensation, suburbs, small towns, and modest-sized cities like Dubuque will be turned into subordinate satellites of regional mega-cities like Chicago, regardless of which state these local governments are formally a part of. Welcome to the world of "Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing" (AFFH), President Obamaâs transformative new regulation.
How will AFFH work? The city of Dubuque gives us one of our best and most frightening previews yet. I hope the presidential candidates are watching, because Obama's new AFFH regulation and the Dubuque fiasco ought to be an issue in this year's Iowa caucuses. I also hope American citizens pay attention to the travesty in Dubuque, because it's not too late to save your hometown from Dubuque's fate. (I'll tell you how to do this below.) An account of Dubuque as a forerunner of a post-AFFH world comes to us courtesy of a stunning report by Deborah Thornton, a policy analyst for Iowa's Public Interest Institute. The report tells the story of how Dubuque was pressured to cede large swathes of its governing authority to the Department of Housing and Urban Development, which has forced the city to direct its limited low-income âSection 8â housing resources, not to its own needy citizens, but to voucher-holders from Chicago...

The obvious endgame is to dilute the voter base of traditionally conservative voting areas with other cultures who will vote for whoever provides free housing, free food, free car, free phone, free college, or any other government handouts in order to implement their Utopian progressive agenda. They also want to erase the last vestiges of free world's Christian heritage that has historically stood against totalitarian rule. Zechariah 5 and Revelation 18 reveal that this scheme will come crashing down. Everyone who partakes in this mass redistribution scheme (thou shalt not steal) will be consumed by this fundamental transformation of the economic order. In the end, God will get the last laugh as he always does, when the kings, rulers, and merchants (billionaires) of the earth mourn at the downfall of the new "Babylon the Great"!
Zechariah 5:1 Then I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a flying roll. 2 And he said unto me, What seest thou? And I answered, I see a flying roll; the length thereof is twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof ten cubits. 3 Then said he unto me, This is the curse that goeth forth over the face of the whole earth: for every one that stealeth shall be cut off as on this side according to it; and every one that sweareth shall be cut off as on that side according to it. 4 I will bring it forth, saith the LORD of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him that sweareth falsely by my name: and it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall consume it with the timber thereof and the stones thereof.
The progressives would LOVE to do away with states and just have several giant regions divided by population, as the main population centers, ie. cities would be their liberal base and would work to subjugate all the rural flyover country.
It makes the Okies mad when you say that Oklahoma City is a Dallas suburb. The Okies often refer to Texas as Baja, Oklahoma.
GK Chesterton wrote the Napoleon of Notting Hill, you can get it free on the free Kindle platform that works FREE on everything, it was written in the early 20th century about just such times as this, when socialism ENGSOC AMSOC had taken over, a resident of a local neighborhood in London gets in a civil war with a neighboring borough, local neighborhoods each get uniforms with distinctive colors, army names, leaders, they have local patriotism, defiance of 1 world collectivism. Or you could go with The Flying Inn, written 1914, England is taken over by the Caliph, alcohol is outlawed, so the last Pub in England goes mobile, trapsing with a barrell of brew in a wagon across the back country to appear on the borders of small towns, only open for a few hours, then closes up shop before Caliph Mustapha’s men can get there to arrest them. The Napoleon of Notting Hill is supposed to have inspired the Geo Washingtons of Ireland and India, Michael Collins and Mohondas K. Gandhi.
Excellent commentary by you, Jan. God made it clear what He thought of “one worldism” at Babel.
I live in Davenport, but have been to Dubuque many times. It is a pretty place that is getting lotsa government funding to redevelop downtown. Frankly, they are doing a lot better job at it than Davenport.
It is a mix between a college town and union town. There are many very liberal Catholic institutions there. They will welcome whatever the Obama administration offers.
Why Adam Smith? He had to understand the economic thinking at the time in order to pervert it.
Also, in Alexis DeTocqueville's "Democracy in America," he spends the first few chapters describing the genius of the American experiment which is the township form of government. It is the closest to the people and it is where the people actually engage in self-government.
The early American experience of self-government is fundamental to America, not that other countries don't engage in it but it is what made America, America. All of our Founders began their political experience representing people or working at the township level of government.
To pull Americans away from that fundamental action and thinking is to destroy America at its heart.
Obama is merely providing the final chapter of Karl Marx's perverted thinking.
What should also be noted is how DBQ's surrounding counties have all been "persuaded" to enact programs and MOU's to be "partners" in what sound like development and public safety issues, but which essentially cede power from towns and counties to a rather arcane collection of agencies that are not responsible to voters at all. That is how little burgs like Dyersvillle get their own miniature "West Rockford," and how Cascade gets properties stuffed to the rafters with young hispanic males. Canny developers who don't live in their own rental properties have discovered that Uncle Sam is an unending fountain of profit, so towns like Peosta and Farley can play hosts to properties that cater to gang-bangers desiring a bed and local honey on The Crack Trail (the drug route from Chicago to Rockford/Freeport, to Waterloo, to Fort Dodge and points west).
Once they reinstate the Chicago to Dubuque government-operated passenger trains (which the individual railroads knew were actually unprofitable by the 1950's), expect more fun to be had in Eastern Iowa.

Ruled by un-elected Czar’s. . .
All under Julian Castro .... Rumored to be Hillary’s VP choice.
The article ends with the suggestion of organizing your neighbors, confronting your local government, and forcing them to stop taking HUD money.
I predict the first thing will happen, and the second thing won’t, and we are doomed on both fronts.
Pray harder!
+1
I’m going full tin foil on this. I took a flight from Philly to KC via Charlotte NC, Spring 2012. The Ph- CH leg was 90% black( African-American, African, Jamaican, who knows); the Ch-KC leg was all white. One could easily imagine a strategy by Obama to rent a lot of apartments in Charlotte to insure victory in a swing state, especially as the Democrats had targeted NC by even having their convention there. It was only one flight, but remarkable; I was never on that route before or since, maybe it’s always that way for all I know.
Amen!
No tinfoil hat required...ask most workers in the Charlotte Airport where they are from. Almost every one of them is from Boston, NYC, Philly, etc. HUD in action!
Probably a lot of them vote in two states, too.
Chilling. National Review’s article needs to be sent to everyone who wants to retain their cities and towns as they know them, and not subject to the dictates of the federal government.
