Tons of thin skinned New Yorkers (some of whom are even masquerading as Republicans) were putting their “faux outrage” on full display for all to see this week. Why? All over Ted Cruz’s “New York values” comment. They demand an apology. The demand it, damn you!
Well, Ted Cruz obliged. And it. Is. Brilliant.
Ted Cruz 'apologizes' to offended New Yorkers (Video)
Hillary Clinton and Andrew Cuomo and Bill de Blasio have all demanded an apology. I’m happy to apologize:
I apologize to the millions of New Yorkers who have been let down by liberal politicians in that state.
I apologize to the hard working men and women of the state of New York who have been denied jobs because Governor Cuomo won’t allow fracking. Even though there had been many high paying jobs just south in Pennsylvania, New Yorkers are denied the ability to provide for their families.
I apologize to all the pro-life and pro-marriage and pro-second amendment New Yorkers who were told by Governor Cuomo that they have no place in New York because that’s not who New Yorkers are.
I apologize to all the small businesses who have been driven out of New York city by crushing taxes and regulations.
I apologize to the millions of unborn children, many African-American and Hispanic, whose lives have been taken by politicians who relentlessly promote abortion on demand with no limitations.
I apologize to all of the African-American children who Mayor de Blasio tried to throw out of their charter schools that were providing a lifeline to the American Dream.
I apologize to the people of New York who are offended when the New York Daily News lambastes anyone who prays for victims of violence.
I apologize to the people of faith who are ridiculed and insulted by the New York media.
And I apologize to all the cops and the firefighters and 9/11 heroes who had no choice but to stand and turn their backs on Mayor de Blasio, because Mayor de Blasio over and over again stands with the looters and criminals rather than the brave men and women of the law.
And to the millions of conservatives–working men and women in New York, with common sense values, trapped by the failures of your political leaders–I am glad to tell you, help is on the way. 2016, like 1980, will bring America back.
It’s just, indescribably beautiful.
I am sooooo glad to see Cruz finally loosening up in the shoulders and putting some zing into his punches. My biggest problem with Cruz (over which I caught quite a bit of flack from you, dear reader) was the he was too “wooden.” That he came across as pre-fab and didn’t exhibit a sense of humor. Now, some of that changed when I interviewed with the Senator ..., but there still remained a question mark. Would he be able to do it on a national stage, under pressure? I think we have our answer.
Listen, New Yorkers can be offended all they want. It’s very similar to when Detroiters take offense to the jabs at their city. The problem? It’s entirely accurate. Detroit is a cesspool of filth and sadness, where dreams go to die. Why? Because it’s been the epicenter of entirely far-left policies since 1961. Detroit is leftism defined. New York City doesn’t particularly represent Conservative values? Why? Because of far-left gun bans, unwaveringly high taxes that have forced many businesses to leave and the overall increasing encroachment of the state on a daily basis.
If you’re a conservative and live in either of these places, you shouldn’t get offended. You should get active. The first step toward fixing a problem is acknowledging that you have one. New York (City) and Detroit? You’ve got some big ones. As a matter of fact, if you’ve taken “offense” to Ted Cruz’s remarks, I’m willing to bet that you’re no Conservative at all.
A) Because Conservatives don’t get “offended.” That’s for whiny SJW liberals and little children.
B) You shouldn’t be defined by your geographical location. You should be defined by your values. Values that your cities and states have not shared for a long, long time. You’re going to get angry with Ted Cruz for pointing that out? What would you rather have, some pandering reality-show host who tells you that you’re great and wipes your bottom for you?
You should just register as a Democrat while you’re at it.
I don’t think this “apology” is going to work. He’s digging himself deeper.
Absolutely spot on. New Yorkers are a BIG part of what is wrong with America. Finally, someone has the backbone to tell the truth. Come get some.
I like Cruz, but that was a mistake. Following up with it yesterday just compounded the mistake.
And now Trump is accusing Cruz of hypocrisy, since he was fundraising with his married gay friends in Manhattan on Monday.
His wife works for Goldman Sachs (A New York Based Brokerage Firm). He takes money from “New York Based” Brokerage firms that he campaigns against. He is a conservative imposter and a fraud. Glad he has finally been caught.
Cruz obviously learned from the Clintons, and doesn’t understand the “Rule of Holes”.
Well said. This conservative was in no way offended at what Cruz said. I am sick of the feigned outrage of the left. Where was the outrage when Andrew Cuomo told pro-life, pro-traditional marriage, pro-2nd amendment people that they were not welcome in their own state? Give me an ‘effin break. I am a New Yorker, and I know exactly what Ted Cruz meant.
The New Yorkers I know are nice people & conservative. For Cruz to single out people from a certain state is bigoted.
The horse is out of the barn on this FAIL and Ted knows it.
Give it up, Ted. You blew it.
Seems Cruz meant to use his derogatory “New York values” remark to pander bear to Iowa and New Hampshire. The best he could cough up to Meagain Kelly, when pressed, was that “ everybody knows what NY values are and they are different from Iowa and New Hampshire values”.
((GROAN))
Liberals in NYC are offended...
I am shocked!
LOL!
Conservatives know exactly what Cruz was talking about and it wasn’t bigoted at all. After all, someone elected that commie mayor DeBlasio or whatever his name is. I’m sure the conservatives in NY were not offended.
Liberals have elevated hypersensitivity (otherwise known as thin-skinned/emotional immaturity) into an art form. It’s thier only reason to live, as thier belief system as a pack of lies is failing them. Thier utopia is a nightmare. All they have is disappointment worn as ‘righteous indignation’. Poor b@stards. And now they can only choose Bernie or Hillary after 8 years of Zero amounting to nothing. Epic fail.
What a rude awakening! But they just want to go back to sleep. Thinking just takes too much effort. Pitching fits like 5-year olds is so much easier.
Put New Yorker’s(Manhattanites) under the demographic microscope. See what we are dealing with.
“..if you’ve taken “offense” to Ted Cruz’s remarks, I’m willing to bet that you’re no Conservative at all.”
That’s convenient. Is the true church and the denial of salvation next?
He can’t apologize for something he did’t do. He is merely exalting himself using other people’s misfortune.
I don’t take offense at those remarks at all. I think they are arrogant and laughable. Does he think his “apologies” heal those people, stop their pain, comfort them in some way?
So true. Why would it be his job to apologize for that list of things? He didn’t control or promote any of them. Its just a way of doubling down that he thinks is cute. I can see why he’s not well liked in Congress. Rather than couching it in such a way as to point out to the conservatives in NY that they are taking it on the chin in so many ways, he understands, and he wants to help he thumbs his nose at them. Great theatre but no way to win people over.
Millions???
Make that "dozens" - if there were millions of conservatives in New York, there'd be no Mayor DiBlasio
It will placate conservatives, but it’s not going to help him in the general election.
