TEHRAN - Iran announced Saturday that it had released four Iranian-Americans as part of a prisoner exchange with the United States.
The announcement from the judiciary on state television did not identify the four, but Iranian news media said they included Jason Rezaian, The Washington Postâs Tehran correspondent; Amir Hekmati, a Marine veteran; and Saeed Abedini, a pastor. There were discrepancies in the Iranian reports about the identity of the fourth prisoner.
It was not immediately clear whom the Americans released, but Iranian reports said seven Iranians were freed.
The exchange was apparently orchestrated to coincide with the expected announcement of the lifting of nuclear sanctions against Iran, the most important phase of the nuclear deal reached with world powers in July.
The incarceration of the Iranian-Americans had become an increasingly bitter side issue.

GOOD CALL, MG. “Crass” is right.
Not everyone has to prove holy roller status to impress dupes for their vote. There is not every practice of Christianity that requires chest beating in public for political gain.
Taking to one’s closet not to be seen, is just as scriptural as is openly proclaiming one’s Christian faith. Presbyterian behavior seldom calls for lights, camera, and action.
Why can’t, ‘We The People’ swap out 0bama for something? Hell, I’d even take Magic Beans at this point! ;)
They can’t remove them without Argentina’s permission and then Argentina would have them taken off.
A 5th American released, but supposedly not part of the swap - Matthew Trevithick. Sounds like he was arrested a few months ago.
Were they all from Club Gitmo?
So now we are in the business of negotiating with terrorist nations.
terms of the deal:
They received seven Iranian spies.
They received two military boats with technology and ??
They received 150 billion dollars.
We received four Iranian/American hostages/prisoners.

The Iranians stole our lunch money, again! Kerry just sucks, plain and simple.
Trump had a lot to do with it I am sure, to say no would to be dishonest.
BTW I never said a unkind word about Trump until the last 2 weeks or less, and only because of his unholy attack on Cruz
Were they prisoners in american custody or were they in our allies custody. I do not believe I saw in the article
I know this by Trumps words and actions, God would not hear the prayer of a man attacking such a good son as Ted Cruz.
He clearly and openly has never asked Jesus into his life.
his own words prove it
“Why do I have to repent or ask for forgiveness, if I am not making mistakes?” asked Trump. “I work hard, I’m an honorable person.”
God Bless Trump, I pray he comes to Jesus but here we see he has not... Unless the Trump cult is even willing to re write the Bible.
Would not surprise me if they did
“On Dec. 29, Kerry told Zarif the United States intended to impose new sanctions on Iran over the missile test firings, which were deemed to have violated a United Nations ban, according to a U.S. official and congressional sources.
Zarif countered that if Washington went ahead, the prisoner swap was off, the sources said.”
I believe they were all here. Some were soon to be released anyway.
Matthew 7:3-5King James Version (KJV)
3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.
As I understand it, we got four American back...for 21 Iranians. Ours should never have been detained. Theirs are spies and criminals.
Par for the course for this admin.

I’d give up Obama for nothing.
I would pay them to carry him way.
Iran reads the mood of America better than Obama does.
He also controls Obama, mostly through Iranian Muslim Brotherhood terrorist supporting Valerie Jarrett, his number ONE advisor.
Iran has decided to play their “trump” card and release the four but will not let them leave Iran until they are sufficiently humiliated publically.
Good excuse to send some more hardened Islamic terrorists back into the war against civilization.
Watch out conservative Constitutional Republic patriotic citizens, Obama is planning on emptying Gitmo and then give Guantanamo Bay to Cuba. This must NOT happen.
All of us here in Idaho know of this Christian preacher. He is a Christian pastor from Idaho, who met his wife in Tehran. They and they came to the US and were married and Saeed converted to Christianity. They have two children, ages six and eight. He traveled back to Iran starting in 2009 in an effort to get approval and construct an orphanage there. But in 2012, three years ago, he was abruptly taken into custody by Iranian officials. They accused him of "undermining national security".
The Obama administration is releasing seven Iran nationals who were facing criminal charges in the U.S. The U.S. also agreed to drop actions against 14 more Iranian nationals on the Interpol watch list whom it wanted to apprehend.
Innocent US citizens exchanged for out and out spies and criminals.
This, along with Obama's other such exchanges, are incenting bad regimes to take Americans.
got four American back...for 21 Iranians
Just like Trump says - The USA is always on the Losing end of the stick. Stupid, stupid leaders.
But I thrilled that we got 4 released, God bless them!
Well, there’s that option, too! :)
