You know Joe Scarborough, who was a member of the House Republican freshman class in 1994, and now he hosts the Morning Joe show on MSNBC from 6 to 9 every morning. And he's from Pensacola. The Trump rally is on Wednesday night. Thursday morning on MSNBC Scarborough says that it was unprecedented, that he has never, ever, seen anything like that in Pensacola. He said it was unprecedented for Pensacola to draw such attention for a presidential event.
He said, "I was at George W. Bush's campaign rally in 2004, the final stages of that presidential race, early November. I saw Reagan come to Pensacola twice in 1980. I saw those crowds. I never saw anything like Trump and his crowds in my hometown before." Scarborough said it was absolutely staggering. "Here we are in early January," he says. "I'll be honest with you: I guess seeing it in your hometown... I didn't get it as far as the size of these crowds go. It's like nothing I ever saw with Reagan, nothing I ever saw with Bush. It's nothing I saw with any political candidate, what I saw come out of Pensacola last night."

Not only that, Trump’s attendees are on fire.
They battle the elements, don’t mind if they can’t get in, and when in they are beaming.
These are people who will crawl over broken glass to support him.
They are so underestimating Trump it is simply staggering. I saw Scarborough interviewing Trump after the rally and he was star struck. You could see that he was blown away by what Trump is doing and so was Mika.
We will have an indication of just how strong Trump is in Iowa. I suspect that Trump will go into the caucuses with a 5-10% lead and turn out will add maybe another 10% onto that.
Don’t forget that Iowa has 3 million people and only 120,000 republicans show up for the caucuses. All this talk about evangelicals and their power is nonsense in this cycle. If 20,000 more people show up for Trump who normally have never voted to vote in the caucuses then Trump will crush his competition. There is no reason to believe that will not happen. If Trump can fill a rally venue with 15,000-25,000 people he can easily come up with an extra 20,000 to vote.
If you keep in mind that the population of Iowa is 3 million, Trump can also come up with much more than 20,000.
I love the fact that Trump’s opponents underestimate him. That is Trump’s best ace in the hole.
I believe they are suffering from pie-in-the-sky-ism, but we shall see.
Iowa will be here soon. Then the big mouth defenses fall away.
Because he is a red, white, and blue American and the people see it and can feel it is genuine. He is not just another politician running for a government paycheck. He cares about America and the love shows. He has some of that rebel cause of the founders, like Paul Revere, Samuel Adams, Francis Marion, Daniel Morgan......................
I agree with your thoughts.
Look, we now have FReepers who love government people. I think that’s great.
I thought we wanted the private sector, but I’m willing to concede I was wrong.
Ted’s folks are very happy to have a Washington insider. Goldman Sachs is no longer a Crony Capitalist problem. Workers for it are now the most honored folks on Wall Street. The CFR is no longer a pariah anti-U.S. entity.
Wait, can I say Wall Street and honored in the same sentence? I guess so...
I don’t know.
When Andy Jackson captured Pensacola and hanged two British officials it made a big splash too.
Trump’s people have been working Iowa (or perhaps that would be Iowans) since last summer. They set goals for certain points of time before the caucuses and there is no doubt in my mind Trump’s people have been reaching their goals. What will be really awesome, is what will happen after he wins Iowa. We ARE taking our country back.
Yeah...he is red, white and blue northeast moderate liberal and his will show his colors after he is elected....
“moderate liberal and his will show his colors after he is elected....”
... aren’t all aspirants like that! Including Ted who doesn’t think that money has value (to read: Ted loves New York money but hates NY values, no?)
At least Trump has a real record of AMERICAN SUCCESS outside of politics!
I have noticed that when questions of Trump’s ground game come up whether asked of Trump or one of his representatives they always avoid answering in specifics. I think they have a very definite ground game but have all been instructed not to mention it in any way.
I think there is going to be a huge surprise on Feb 1 and no one will have guessed just how strong Trump was in Iowa.
eah...he is red, white and blue northeast moderate liberal and his will show his colors after he is elected....
......................................................
Sorry, but I don’t see it that way.
I hope you are right but it doesn't seem real. Perhaps Obama and the libs have awaken a sleeping giant !
His current Bonfire of TWEETS is doing that rather well ..already
Scott Brown had it all going for him at that time. He was even being considered as a presidential candidate for 2012. However, he got into office and proceeded to be your typical RINO, caving in on all the promises he made.
Let's hope Trump does not make that same mistake.
I remember how Brown caved.
The way I see it if we get any other Republican we will get screwed.
If we get Hillary we will get screwed.
If we get Trump we might be very pleasantly surprised. I see no downside.
