I think you are correct. It looks to me that Cruz expected pushback, but then Trump jumped on it, causing all the lefty pols and the press from NY to jump on it too.
In the end, this works out well for him as it puts him in the spotlight as opposing de Blasio and Cuomo and having Trump on their side. win-win for Cruz.
His response is perfect as he gets to slam the policies that make NY so dysfunctional.. and puts Trump on the spot for having been on the other side of the line for so long (and maybe still is...?)
I don’t give a rat’s arse who Phil Robertson endorses - okay? It makes no difference to me, but if it makes you feel better about Little Teddy, then by all means, embrace it. St. Cruz is a phony!
By their hysterical comments, New Yorkers /Democrats/Liberals are illustrating Cruz’s apt assessment of their values. They look down on the rest of the country and don’t mind calling Iowans “hicks”, but they are squalling like little girls when Cruz rightly points out their Leftist social views. That’s why they leap to defend one of their own, Mr. Trump.
The vast majority doesn’t give a rats rear about the subtle nuances of the political game. They want someone who will do the job and do it well and be a decent person as well.
One thing about campaigns is that over time, they tend to force the real person to come out for a looksee. If this is how Senator Cruz wants to be seen, then he’s welcome to it.
I’m having some difficulty sorting all this out but I was somewhat put off by the way the man from NY who says whatever comes to mind about whoever acted so righteously indignant when someone says something about his home state. Donald has been turning the stove up on high but now the kitchen is too hot for him?
