It didn't say be evil to fit in with evil, quite the contrary. Paul did say that the civil magistrate is God's minister to be a terror to evil and a servant for good. Good in the Bible is doing God's will as expressed in the Bible, i.e. no abortion, no homo-parades because no homos, no frivorce, limited government, no feminism, no taking others property by eminent domain, no bribing officials for favoritism, no greed, no course language or blasphemy...etc. I do not see Trump being a terror to what God calls evil and I do not see him being a servant to good. It seems he is too narcissistic with too many NY values to execute the office in the Romans 13 way.
I think Trump should clarify if these are his views *today*.
The interview is from 1999. Sixteen years ago. People can and do change their minds.

The 9-11 attacks two years after Trump gave this interview changed a lot of things. Most people have different views when in the role of the one who is responsible rather than a mere Monday morning quarterback who bears no burden of responsibility.
Trump the business mogul sounding off on social issues in a pre 9-11 world is a different man than Trump the candidate who is likely to be the leader of a crippled nation during dangerous times.
Seventeen years ago I was a different man. Deployment during OIF and two kids changed me.
Cruz and his New York values comment would play very differently in a pre 9-11 world, before the Obama disaster that this nation inflicted on itself twice.
Obama has opened more than a few eyes to the folly of “liberal enlightenment”. If some of the liberal leanings of many Americans haven’t withered during these two disastrous Obama terms we are finished.
If Trump has changed his views, I pray he has lots of company and that veteran conservatives aren’t too pig headed to accept the newly awakened to our ranks.
We will need every single willing hand to pull together to help save our country and to make America great again.
Trump is attacking a strawman as last night’s debate shows.
When Trump went on about Firefighters, Policemen and First responders, etc. during 9/11, you could clearly see from the video that Cruz was LITERALLY applauding them.
It is obvious that Cruz was not referring to these heroes.
He was referring to something else when he mentioned “New York Values”. These are LIBERAL POLITICIANS who are pro-choice, pro-gay marriage and pro-gun control. HE SAID SO.
Alas, these would include MANY Republicans in the state.

Well, if change of mind is going to be criteria for voting for someone, we should all worry about all other leading candidates as well — they would include BOTH Trump and Rubio.

That is THE INTERVIEW, the specific interview that Cruz referred to in the debate. Those are the New York values he was referring to. Yet Trump dishonestly makes it about the nearly as old 9/11 event. Trump is showing his con man side.
