When they finally concede that Trump will be the likely nominee and that their other 'go-to [Hillary]' could be facing an orange jumpsuit position soon, they will.

They will because they want in on the benefits of a party who has a sitting president in the Oval Office. They will want to try to influence. They will also try to get 'their guy' as the VP, just like they did with Reagan.
