BOOM! Frank Luntz focus group OVERWHELMINGLY says Ted Cruz WON THE DEBATE!

Frank Luntz’s focus group tonight overwhelmingly said that Ted Cruz won the debate. It wasn’t even close:

Frank Luntz Focus Group Picks Their Overwhelming Winner of Fox Business GOP Debate (Video)

I really feel that Ted had his best debate tonight. He’s gone from sounding too polished in the early debates to winning by a long shot tonight. Some will say it’s because I’m biased and what not, but really, his arguments tonight were passionate, emphatic, concise, and very effective.

Cruz, simply put, did the best out of all of the candidates and this focus group proves it.

Anyone else getting tired of the BOOM! in front of non-BOOM stories?

Debates don’t usually change people’s opinions.

It is purely anecdotal but my two brothers-in-law both changed their support of candidates after last night’s debate. One is a self-proclaimed, staunch conservative and the other is an idiot. Let me explain:

The idiot was a Bush supporter. He thought he was a fantastic governor and his name recognition would defeat the Democrats. He decided that Bush really cannot debate or win after watching last night. He switched to Rubio.

The other was a rabid Trump supporter. He switched to Cruz last night saying that 1) Cruz would destroy Hillary in a debate and 2) Trump’s China response made him look and sound a homeless man arguing with a lamp post.

My apolitical son watched as well. He came away saying he liked Cruz and Trump about equally. His impression was that Cruz was by far the smartest of the group but Trump was a cool billionaire bad a$$.

There you have it. A microcosm of America in my living room last night.

When you take the time to peel back the surface of Donald Trump, there really isn't much there. . . .

Over these months, I've been listening for substance, depth, knowledge, social and constitutional conservatism understood and articulated--and it's just not there.

Trump erred with me when he started that birther crapola on Cruz. Really Donald? He could have hit Ted on a few of his senate votes and it would have been far more effective. I hate politics and its games. No matter the election outcome I have little faith in the government of corrupt and flawed humanity.

Trumpsters will whine. They like empty slogans from clinton donors so much

No, Cruz didn’t “win.” He might have, but the “NY values” comment and Rubio’s broadside at the end relegated him to at best a tie with Trump.

What has become crystal clear to anyone with an IQ greater than that of a frying pan(which leaves out 47% of the population)is how superior in every way the Republican candidates are when compared to the Democrat trash. And that Trump, Cruz, and Rubio are the only candidates that matter, and that any of these three would make a better president than any we’ve had since Reagan.

One more debate to go then the real contest begins.

If you’re right that means Rubio will be the last man standing. Get ready for a Rubio/Bush ticket.

Too bad that photographic memory couldn’t remember to include 2 loans on his FEC filings when he ran for Senate.

Rubio and Bush is the plan.. Meanwhile, FR is going for the nuclear option and helping the plan right along.

Only IF the GOPe is successful, which I highly doubt they could pull it off this time.

They have had over a year to convince us that we really do want Jeb! and it hasn't stuck, in fact most of his original donors are super antsy and are ready to jump ship and go with a winner.

If they have not been successful at getting us to want Jeb! they will not be able to convince us Rubio is the man. No matter how much the media colludes with them.

It would be so much easier on them if they would just listen to the people - AS IT WAS ORIGINALLY DESIGNED - you know WE THE PEOPLE.

This time around we are not going to have their guy shoved down our throats.

Trump will take Cruz out being the ruthless fighter he is then the GOPe takes out the goods they have on Trump with his shady business dealings some done with the Clinton's then Presto, we have Rubio/Bush.

Am I the only one that was bothered by Trump using the 911 victims and heroes to score a point against Cruz? Trump knew what Cruz meant when he said NYC values and if he didn't know he should have.

Cruz doesn’t have a photographic memory.

Evidently you don’t either.

Trump and Cruz should have stayed on course and not attacked each other. One needed the other to take the country back. “Hang together or hang separately”.

Trump is antsy that Cruz may overtake him. He was nice to Cruz because he wanted him as VP.

As if.

It’s closer to the truth to say you can’t get enough
You know you’re gonna have to face it, you’re addicted to Trump!

You’re not the only one, no. I’ve been willing to vote for Trump IF he makes it (at this point, I’m doubtful, and inclined to agree to your scenario) but that was blatant dishonesty on Trump’s part.

I’m also bothered by the long-time FReepers who DO know what Cruz was saying...and have said as much themselves many times about the communist political cesspool that has taken over NY and other big cities....

Some were even commenting that Cruz was beaten at that point and was clapping for Trump. Not how I saw it at all. I saw it as Cruz was being respectful to what Trump was saying about the responders and the NYers working together. That’s why he was clapping.

far too many saw fit to continue repeating that Cruz insulted the 9-11 responders. I give up.

Also bothered by the fact that Trump seems to be okay saying whatever he wants, such as **not many evangelicals come out of Cuba** -— (do FReepers agree?) - yet Cruz isn’t permitted to strike back such as his line **not many conservatives come out of NY** (which FReepers know to be fact).

This is a mess. Again..I give up.
