Frank Luntz’s focus group tonight overwhelmingly said that Ted Cruz won the debate. It wasn’t even close:
Frank Luntz Focus Group Picks Their Overwhelming Winner of Fox Business GOP Debate (Video)
I really feel that Ted had his best debate tonight. He’s gone from sounding too polished in the early debates to winning by a long shot tonight. Some will say it’s because I’m biased and what not, but really, his arguments tonight were passionate, emphatic, concise, and very effective.
Cruz, simply put, did the best out of all of the candidates and this focus group proves it.
Yup. Luntz is a tool and he hand picks his audience to assure the outcome that he and Fox News want. After the focus group after the first debate he should have gone to selling shoes or something. His credibility as a pollster was shot.
Cruz does have a high intellect, and it does show. There are hundreds of thousands of people in the US with an equally high intellect but that doesn’t mean they’d make good, or even tolerable, presidents. I’d love him as AG.
And Trump did do “himself the most good”. Very strong. Very presidential. He speaks to the people and taps into their angst and frustration; he makes a good connection.
Good point. Agreed
I have asked for my post (#20) to be removed. I now see you were not attacking the O.P. but were attacking LUNTZ.
I apologize.
But during the post-debate reporting on Fox, Luntz's focus group were in agreement that Romney was wise not to go after Obama on that issue. Allowed their statements to give me some hope that maybe I was wrong.
After the election, I decided I would NEVER trust another one of Luntz's focus groups--EVER!
Trump’s Archie Bunkerish appeal will be difficult to top.
Cruz could still push past Trump by channeling Jesus (which is not the same as being what is called Christian today). But even if he does it coarsely, Trump is still hitting on issues that America cares about.
No Problem! We all miss the mark at times. I just love that little potted cat! ;-)
And what it's worth is nothing. Online polls are worthless. Ask President Ron Paul.
Is this the same Luntz who had a focus group early on and said Trump was
finished?
I think so.
There are a few credible opinions that one might trust.
Frank Luntz isn’t one of them.
Cruz should learn better than to trust Luntz if Luntz is this way
“Winning” debates doesn’t win elections.
I think he’s still been hoping up until this time that Trump would hire him. When that didn’t happen he went out and handpicked him another “focus group” that hates Trump.
And Ted Cruz is not?
Let me give you my impression just listening to Trump.
I hear how great he is and how rich he is. And then he punctuates it with "America being great again."
But what else does he say?
Nothing.
Sounds to me like the guy that has that job right now.
"But, he will get America back on track."
How will The Donald do that?
When you take the time to peel back the surface of Donald Trump there really isn't much there except billions of dollars.
He doesn't care for or understand the Constitution. To him it is a piece of paper some old guys wrote.
Do you think he just might want to follow it? Which would be his number one job as president.
Donald Trump bravado is preceding him and he is blinding a lot of people.
So, I know the Trump people look for articles written about him so he can read about himself first thing in the morning.
Well, Trump people, here is one person who is not buying your schtick.
Luntz polls twelve people.
What’s the margin of error on that, Frank?
Luntz the apple polisher has discredited himself long before that.
He is a inside the beltway creature of the MSM and possibly the GOPee. He pals around with the likes of David Shuster (remember him?) at the White House Correspondence Dinner. I saw this with my own eyes.

However, IIRC Ron Paul never lead any states or nationally like Trump is.

Luntz is a defacto arm of the Dick Morris school of I’m always wrong. LOL!
Unfortunately, Ted Cruz did not have time to respond to the alleged accusations of flip-flopping that Marco Rubio detailed in the debate.
..........................................................
I wish I could say you are right but you are not. I was rooting for Cruz to have a strong comeback against Rubio’s accusations but he did not. And you will see in the clip (3:25 mark) that he did have time. Cruz chose to attack Rubio, rather than clear up anything erroneous that Rubio said. What Rubio said was very compelling. I’ve read it all before and hoped Cruz would clear it up. He did not. Out of the 11 accusations, Cruz himself said that only 6 were untrue. Meaning 5 had some truth to them and I presume they were the accusations about bringing in foreign workers and the TPP. Unless Cruz has some yet to be heard reasoning, these stances look very disturbing.
