Real-estate tycoon Donald Trump blasted the unnamed "bastard" responsible for setting up a faulty sound system at a Wednesday-night campaign rally.
"And by the way, I don't like this mic," Trump said after criticizing US trade policy with China during his speech in Pensacola, Florida.
The Republican presidential front-runner then crudely instructed his staff to not pay the person responsible.
"Whoever the hell brought this mic system, don't pay the son of a b----," he said.
Trump added: "This mic is terrible. Stupid mic keeps popping. Do you hear that George? Don't pay him! Don't pay him. You know, I believe in paying, but when somebody does a bad job like this stupid mic, you shouldn't pay the bastard. Terrible. Terrible. It's true."

Having worked in that industry the sound guy should have fixed the problem instantly, or made sure it didn't happen in the first place. It was a massive blunder by the sound crew, sort of like a restaurant serving a salad with a dead mouse in it. Trump did what any good manager does - raise hell when somebody performs terribly.
In the sound business you know you don't get to make mistakes like that.
Who would want to work for this guy?
Trump is too close to a mic and decides to publicly denigrate the sound technician.
He’s all for the little guy.
_____________________________________________
A awful lot of people are pleased to work for Trump and take pride in doing a job to his satisfaction.
Oh sure, Trump doesn’t have a clue how to talk into a mic. How many thousands of hours has he used a mic?
Under Trump, you either perform or you are fired - simple rules.
Don’t pay him, and keep his coat too!
I did business with Trump. I did what I said I was going to do. I got paid.
In most venues, the sound system technicians are union members. Do we have to draw you a picture?
BTW I swear at things and people that don’t work or do their job all the time. Trump is just human, I guess.
Donald Trump throws protesters out into the cold and confiscates their coats.
Donald Trump throws out silently protesting Muslim women in burkas.
Waaah!
“The media is sitting on a pile of his sleazy business practices, hoping that he wins the nomination.”
If that’s true, then why haven’t Fox News the Wall Street Journal, the two big journalistic backers of the GOPe, been publicizing them for the GOPe to stop
Trump??
Ironic for a guy who is where he is because of who he knows.
A juicy little tidbit, but why does it stop short of citing casualties? Could it be that this slid so long because nobody had gotten hurt?
You are so wrong about Trump. He is a loving sweet genuine guy. But dont trifle with him and don’t under-perform when you are on his payroll. Wouldn’t you love that attitude aimed at Government bureaucrat’s?
A good manager doesn’t do it in public. A good manager and leader would have asked for a different mic or found an alternative.
A bully castigates the in front of everyone.
I would work for him in a skinny minute. The best bosses I’ve had have had his personality and temperament. Of course, under-achievers didn’t fare well under these bosses. They expect the best for accomplish goals. And they’ve also had the best sense of humor, and were the kindest. Do your job; do it right. Everybody’s happy.
Sounds like he’s trying to project an image of a fellow who will demand that everything works right.
He could stand to learn that getting into a fury is not always the best way to get things to work right. Nonetheless, there are a whole passel of wrong things for which to many, currently, fury looks like the only immediate answer, because it is due to self-occupied bums.
Cruz is calmer, and could make a point here that Donald is needlessly losing his cool. However he also needs to make a point that he’s going to do something about these problems that Donald keeps highlighting, or instead of careful thinker he just looks like wimp.
I lean to the careful thinker side, IF it has a credible answer. It’s when it doesn’t, that the temple has to be cleansed.
The inside the Beltway crowd would have payed him. And would pass law requiring everyone to pay for poor service.
Do we really want this hot-head with his finger on the button?
Is that you Jeb?
Union Cretins be damned!
Fix it or “You’re Fired”.
Love It!
CLOSE THE BORDER
DEPORT HE ILLEGALS
MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.
It’s THAT simple.
Because they hate Cruz more. The word is that they think they can "work with" Trump.
They're being strategic.
Did you notice that Rubio "dumped the opposition research folder" on Cruz last night? Rubio's had the folder for five months.
Timing is important.
I’ve given the nod to Trump for a while, but it looks like he’s run up against a theological issue that we call the grace of God.
The grace of God can’t be demanded. It can only be prayed for and welcomed. Trump needs to know when to stop presuming. Here’s where Cruz could, in theory, really clean Donald’s clock. IN THEORY... a lot of Christians are sadly ignorant of grace issues.
“Too close to the mic” shouldn’t be a problem. Trump is familiar with using mics, uses them often, and doesn’t run into such problems. The sound system should be set up to work fine from any distance from 1+ feet away to “eating the mic”; at worst, the sound guy should be able to make a quick sound booth adjustment and resolve it before Trump notices it.
As comparisons:
When wireless mics are used in high-profile gigs, the sound crew ALWAYS puts brand-new batteries in so there is NO chance of the mic dying from an old battery.
When setting up a stage, sound crews will spend HOURS minutely checking EVERY mic and speaker.
THAT is how uptight the sound crew is _supposed_ to be, making sure that the performer NEVER notices the sound system because it works perfectly every time.
SOMEBODY should have, well before the debate, “got too close to the mic” and heard the problem, and proceeded to replace the mic with one that COULD handle “too close”.
Trump’s time is worth over $8 per _second_ ... and that’s when averaged across 24/7/365. Just the time he spent noticing (not commenting!) the problem cost him more than I make in an hour (waste an hour of my time and I’ll get cheesed off too).
