At the risk of conspiracy theory mongering..there have been a few too many “navigation” mishaps in our mil hardware of late.
TWO boats off Iran go simul missing? TWO helos? I guess they could have “legitimately” collided.
I don’t know if it is hardware-related or software related: The relentless demoralizing of our military readiness.

Not good by any means. Search for 2 CH-53’s would seem to indicate a collision or one following the other and going to low. Hopefully it’s a rescue.

I don’t know anything about this but it seems to me that two helos in this day and age shouldn’t collide unless there was major malfunction.

Night flying helos is tough, lost a bunch of friends when 2 53s went into the side of a mountain back in ‘76, and a good friend in Desert One, collision happen.
Just damn.
