The electoral college is winner-take-all in those states. 30% conservative voters (or even 49% for that matter) means 0 electoral votes. New York always casts 100% of its EV's for the RAT. That's not going to change no matter how much the GOP "reaches out" to a state like NY.

As someone else noted, Dems have no problem bashing conservative states like Alabama. They could care less that 30-40% of the voters in those states agree with them.
