Second look at Trump?
Donald Trump reacted to criticism from Republican presidential primary challenger Cruz Wednesday, saying that he equates "New York values" to "energy" that helped the city to persevere after the September 11th attacks.
"One thing it means is energy. You know, when the World Trade Center got hit, we rebuilt that World Trade Center and we got through and very few places in this world could have gotten through what we went through. I mean, I was so proud of New York, the World Trade Center, these two massive, 110 story buildings come down, thousands of people killed. I've never seen anything like it in my life. And immediately the rebuilding started," Trump told conservative Radio host Howie Carr.
In a separate interview Wednesday on Bloomberg News' "All Due Respect," Trump further addressed the attack, saying, "When you knock New York, you've got to go through me. New York is an amazing place with amazing people." The more I think about Cruz's "New York values" attack on Trump this week, the more I think it's a silly mistake (and not just because I'm biased due to my upbringing). Here's one reason why:
You can understand why Cruz did it. When you're making a play for Iowa and the deep south in a Republican primary, you can't go wrong needling the godless sodomites of NYC. Problem is, the race won't be won or lost in Iowa and the deep south. Ironically, it's the blue states that may decide the nominee because they come later in this year's primary schedule, which means they can follow winner-take-all rules for awarding their delegates instead of awarding them proportionally. Which colors. The ones that believe Rubens, Picasso and Botticelli had nude models and did nothing wrong by doing so. Or that I admit that I enjoy talking to good looking people. Or that I don’t believe in Goldman Sachs’ plans for a one world order. I don’t know what kind of modeling Mrs Trump did, don’t really care either. Could you be so shallow as to be suggesting that nude modeling would define a person?
I’d knock (Liberal) NYC values as well...most of the country doesn’t like the continued progressivism out of that place.

New York hasn’t voted for a republican president since the 80’s. I wonder if Trump voted for Blasio? or Cuomo? I mean NY is so great that businesses are leaving right and left

Gee, thanks a lot. And how many NYers would that be, one wonders? I was born and raised in Brooklyn and my mother in Staten Island; she and her brothers and sister had some wonderful New York values and I'd like to think she imparted them to me as well.

I worked on Wall Street, just blocks from the WTC, knew people who died their and their parents. I am shocked a thoughful guy like Cruz showed such regional prejudice.
I have lived in five states from the northeast south, southwest and west, and everyone I met I have treated as a fellow American. Yeah they heard my northeast accent and mostly we treated eachother as fellow Americans. Too bad Ted. When I lived in Texas I was a Texan, and I would punch or choke out anyone who Messed With Texas. Sorry Ted you don’t feel we all bleed Red White and Blue.
I worked for Rudy Guiliani’s mayoral campaigns even though he is way more liberal than me. Rudy was a great leader, and Mayor.
Nothing wrong with Rudy’s New York ways, he took a city that suffered the loss of thousands of folks, injuries to first responders and over $100 billion in property and business losses just the first year alone.
I watched with heartache the endless funerals, the endless digging for human remains. We all bleed Red White and Blue. My Father and Uncle’s who served like me in the Navy and Army, saved America lives and won WWII for all Americans. And on the day they died they were buried with an American Flag, with honor guards not with a New York Flag.
But the courts know what it means, I`m certain they`ll explain it to him!
That one simple comment probably ended any chance of Cruz getting the nomination.

You are not working with a full deck. Everyone likes to look at pretty people. Psychologists have run study after study showing that good looking people get ahead on their looks. We may differ on what we think is pretty. I go for the natural look with character, independence and wit. That’s what I call pretty.

I have always said the sleaziest people I have ever met were developers. The MSM is going to destroy Trump in the General Election.
