Second look at Trump?
Donald Trump reacted to criticism from Republican presidential primary challenger Cruz Wednesday, saying that he equates "New York values" to "energy" that helped the city to persevere after the September 11th attacks.
"One thing it means is energy. You know, when the World Trade Center got hit, we rebuilt that World Trade Center and we got through and very few places in this world could have gotten through what we went through. I mean, I was so proud of New York, the World Trade Center, these two massive, 110 story buildings come down, thousands of people killed. I've never seen anything like it in my life. And immediately the rebuilding started," Trump told conservative Radio host Howie Carr.
In a separate interview Wednesday on Bloomberg News' "All Due Respect," Trump further addressed the attack, saying, "When you knock New York, you've got to go through me. New York is an amazing place with amazing people." The more I think about Cruz's "New York values" attack on Trump this week, the more I think it's a silly mistake (and not just because I'm biased due to my upbringing). Here's one reason why:
You can understand why Cruz did it. When you're making a play for Iowa and the deep south in a Republican primary, you can't go wrong needling the godless sodomites of NYC. Problem is, the race won't be won or lost in Iowa and the deep south. Ironically, it's the blue states that may decide the nominee because they come later in this year's primary schedule, which means they can follow winner-take-all rules for awarding their delegates instead of awarding them proportionally. Even if Cruz wins Iowa and cleans up in the SEC states, he's likely to lead fairly narrowly over the rest of the...

Yeah...... New York values like making a nude model your 3rd wife.
I so was hoping to avoid this, but now I'm feeling sorry for the victim, the young Mr. Cruz.
Poor guy. So much potential, too...
Get use to it, if Cruz gets scrutiny for ‘natural born’, Trump is going to get examined for his acknowledged ‘donations’ to all those politicians, deal! Take that on your long pier walk!
Except his Cruz’s response will resonate in Iowa (but probably not New Hampshire.) We will have to wait and see..
At least he made an honest woman outta her!
Ohio ranked as the No. 12 worst state on the list.
The study estimates corruption costs residents in the 10 most corrupt states about $1,308 a year.

Yeah, lets sling some mud! You guys started a war, lets wage it full on!
I hate the Ohio Crat party!
I would like to tell you all something about NY values.
On the morning of 9/11/2001, Richard Bruce Van Hine, NYFD Truck 41, came off of his night shift and prepared to go home.
The call from the World Trade Center came in. Bruce strapped on his gear and got on the truck, and went to the WTC.
He was never seen alive again.
Years later, when they removed the ramp that went down into the WTC pit, they found Bruce’s body.
He left behind a wonderful wife and two beautiful teenage daughters.
Bruce was my friend.
That is what NY values look like in action.
Very thought-provoking post!
That is an interesting summation of a person. She modeled nude so you are tarred by loving and committing to her through marriage. Good one. Only NYers do that.... interesting.
I would rather meet Trump’s wife than Cruz’s lady. I am not on board with globalization and I like looking at pretty people.
“And you have met enough to generalize about NY values. I doubt it.”
Look at who they elect, then get back with me.
Thanks for showing your true colors.
Trump always best when others attack. To Cruz, In your eye like a big pizza pie...ha! It’s no Amore’ for you Cruz from New Yorkers ;)
Such a beautiful story. God bless you and his memory.
May God always comfort his family. Sad.
But you know, there really should be an official investigation of the man. I wonder how many forums we have to go to suggest this idea before it gains traction? I wonder if any of the Rats he bribed would commit political suicide to help take him down?
I’m fine with Trump getting scrutiny. I even expect him to bear up under it. I also have no problem with his donations. It was the cost of doing business and he donated lots to Republicans as well.
I wasn’t defending Trump as much as NYC. I was devastated on 911 and to have that brought into the forefront of my mind by Trump’s comments and then to have people dump on NY; no way am I lying down for that.
YUP!
I wonder which consultant told him to pull that crap.
Good luck with that.
