It was probably Trump's worst performance so far. It was amateur hour, except for a couple of questions.
Trump made the mistake of focusing attention on Cruz before the debate with his silly attacks. As they stood side-by-side, Cruz exuded competence with each answer, and Trump displayed a thin understanding of most issues.
The only effective attack on Cruz came from Rubio who, as Cruz said, dumped the entire oppo folder on him, leaving Cruz with only 30 seconds to respond.
It was Trump’s best debate so far.

Trump was weak attacking Cruz, but he was excellent on the issues (China, Muslim ban, etc).

I think they all did as well as they can, and I don’t expect much of a break one way or the other.
Nobody screwed up. Several drew blood. Almost everyone got damaged slightly. Almost everyone did themselves some good.
Except Kasich, Bush and Carson. WTF are those guys doing here? Christie barely belongs on stage.

You may or may not be right.
We are the only people who care about NBC and a few other hard constitutionalists. The funny thing is that people get impressions of people and will not really remember much of the substance. Trump was unrehearsed but authentic, Ted came off as....an attorney.
People hate attorneys.
