He only used Tribe because Tribe was one of Cruz’s professors.

I understand that, but he should have done some research on him before he did. Using him as authority is going to set of alarm bells for anybody who follows gun control issues.

Tribe is a respected authority on the Constitution. The Senate selected Tribe and Olson to do the opinion on McCain’s eligibility. Whatever his political leanings, he is a foremost authority on the Constitution.

I remember many conservatives who would have thrown Cruz to the curb just because he studied law at Harvard.
